I generally enjoy Top Gear but I do find it interesting that Clarkson is so easily enamored with all things British (I recall watching him nearly cream his jeans over a POS Jaguar S Type this year) but bashes the hell out of excellent cars like the NSX and while I haven't obviously driven one... the Cayman.

My recollection (from a very old Top Gear where he was much thinnner) is that he complained about the car being to sewing machine like and not enough soul.

I just saw this. lol... I'm glad there's somebody else in the world who does get excited by a new Porsche when it looks the same as the last. And i dont think Jeremy holds any anti-porsche because he loved the 911 GT3 (i think it was... all porsches look and sound the same lol). Just to prevent flame wars i respect & like porsches.

Jeremy used to be very anti-Japanese when it came to cars. But he has mellow with the likes of the GTR, S2000, and RX-8. I think the two biggest reasons Jeremy doesn't like Japanese cars more is because 1) he likes more power, and 2) he's a pom. :D

Interesting video. It will be fun to see how the aftermarket responds to fill in for the holding back that Porsche did with regards to performance. How good could this car have been if they really tried??

That one was Tiff not Jeremy. Jeremy kind of likes the NSX...

! :D

I just watched a Top Gear on Speed where Tiff raced Vickie in a 2002 yellow NSX. He seemed to really like it then, but it was just for a few seconds.

Tiff loves cars that oversteer. The NSX just isn't his thing.

As for the cockster, I enjoyed the review.

How true Mitch. I was really disapointed to find out that the Cayman would not be getting an AWD model because this car would certainly have stole my attention from Porshe's CS4. I feel that if I go with a 911 model now I am actually sacrificing looks and to a degree performance. And now that Aston Martin has released their 8, Porsche's 911 slips yet another notch on my scale of desireability.
