New owner

Congrats on your new ride. I've never seen a sunroof modification in person. As long as it doesn't leak or weigh too much you should be okay. Enjoy!

Nice car. Congratulations and happy driving.
Was your sunroof a standard size one or did they have to make one specially for you. Also, does it alter the stiffnes of your car?

Congrats on the new car. Check your coolant level (appears low in the picture). Also, see if you can adjust the front hood so it lines up flush with the front bumper. There are two rubber stops on each side near the radiator that you can raise/lower by turning. There may also be some shims under the latch mechanism you can remove.

There is an NSX event in Raleigh, NC in two weeks for the Basch Boost supercharger installations in this part of the country, if you are interested.

...and maybe, if you get a chance, you can take your car out on this stretch of road near your home:

Since I live to the East of Danville, I am only 15 minutes from VIR. I missed the event a few months ago, but maybe another will come around.

I think I need to get a little more comfortable with driving the NSX first... control feel, position, etc. are a little different from my (recent) Eclipse or even my MR2.

i like the antenna ...im looking to do the same thing with the VW antenna and eliminate the power antenna. the dual tips are nice also but i think if you could raise them up a bit they would look better....congrats and good luck with your car.

Ummmm - that appears to be a cell antenna to me... the radio still has the power antenna as far as I can tell.

There are lots better solutions to the antenna situation, for those who find the mast ugly. (I don't, and in fact, I find this strange - it's a radio antenna, after all! Anyway...)

If you spend much of your time listening to CD, the Smartenna will keep the power antenna down.

Or, if you disconnect the power to the antenna, your radio will still work; you just won't benefit from the extra range that the mast gives you (which is what the height of the antenna is for in the first place), and you will be stuck with whatever quality reception it can get using the other antenna (the one on the back window) without the benefit of the diversity function using the better signal from either of the two stock antennas.

The previous owner installed the sunroof. It is a Webasto and I think the standard Sport Spoiler. It looks very good, but I haven't driver another NSX to know about the stiffness. :-)

I'll measure it and see if it is the Sport model.

Thanks!

The coolant is at minimum, I'll have to get some for it.

The rubber stops don't appear adjustable to me - do the hinges adjust? I didn't see any shims in the latch, I'll have to look for more information.

Are you going to Raleigh? I was thinking about going down - especially to get some informed points of view on the car. I also want to get it checked out by a mechanic familiar with the NSX.

I posted some new pictures of some problems :-)

There's a hole in the plastic airflow/vent cover behind the engine glass - I'll just have to get the part replaced.

There's a hole that looks like it was cut in the left front fender well where the vent strips are - any ideas on why this would be done?

There's some oil on one of the valve cover bolts and the valve cover appears to have a gap on that side - do I need to have it removed and put back with a new gasket?

Yes, I'll be in town on business anyway so I will definitely check out the NSX stuff.

Yes... Weird cut. I wonder what it was for.

It looks like someone had oversize wheels/tires on the front and were expericing a problem with rubbing, so they cut the fender liner where it was rubbing.

Maybe, it's hard to tell what's going on in the picture. If you don't have service records you should probably get a valve adjustment anyway.

As the expense of being an NSX owner begins :-)

I plan to see what service records Acura can pull...

PS The wierd thing about the hole in the wheel well is that it's only on the left side.

I have 215/40/17 - 255/35/18 wheels/tires on my NSX and it only rubs (a little) - at full lock - on the left side.

Mine has stock now - maybe changed back??? Anyway, it doesn't bother too much since it looks like I'd have to replace the entire lining.
