Thought I'd post a pic of our new NSX. I know some folks on this forum aren't wild about this color, but it kind of grows on you, and it is pretty rare. It looks very different in low light and at night. I took pics in full sun to show her full purple radiance... guess I can't load more than one given size restrictions. :frown:

Car has 46 K mi and is bone stock except for the rims. Yea, I'm not too wild about them... a little too disco for my taste. If anyone's interested, I'd consider trading them for some stock '95's when the time comes for new skins.

i like this color, especially on a dark/cloudy day
the color looks stunning. it gives you the impression
that the color is "black".

congrats ...

Welcome to the midnight pearl club!.

I only gotten compliments on the color...also my first 2 weeks of ownership I had 2 offers to buy the car!..so purple is cool.

Volk, Volk, Volk, Volks:biggrin:

I think that's a great color. I agree with the rest, ditch the wheels, some nice volk or prodrives would look great.

+3 on those gay wheels. Car color is nice.

Is that on a gayness scale of 1-10 or 1-3?

Thanks for the compliments and the glowing critiques of the rims. If you don't like these, I guess you probably wouldn't like a set of pimpstars on an NSX either... my second choice

So the skinny on these bad-assed rims is that the car was ordered by Michael Johnson- of the gold shoes and track fame (multi-world and olympic 200m and 400m sprinter). At least there's a bit of provenance in them.

Anyway, I called the dealership in Plano, TX and asked for the sales guy who'd been there the longest. I asked him if he remembered an NSX being sold to MJ and he says " Oh yea, the purple car" Second owner claims MJ ordered the car with the rims (I'm the third). They sell aftermarket rims (nice one's too, huh?) at the dealership and he said MJ probably just had ordered them to be put on before he took delivery. I was hoping maybe they had a full set of '95 stock rims stashed somewhere... no such luck.

Come on, deep down inside, you know your all lust'n for a set of these.

Volks are VERY sweet! Just too rich for my blood right now. Other more pressing issues.

Congrats on the car and nice color.

It's pretty cool that Michael Johnson owned that car before. You now own a celeb's former car. At least it wasn't Jon Voight's  (for you Seinfeld fans)

I've always wanted a midnight pearl nsx, just that there isn't one around my area. I'd trade my black for urs  .

Yeah, you definitely need a set of stock gunmetal 16/17s, they look killer especially on your color. Make sure you pick up those center caps that says "A", not those long "ACURA" ones, which looks a bit outdated IMO. Like these :

And maybe replacing the center piece of the tail light with an "A" also, then you have a considerably "refreshed" nsx. Congrats on the purchase again~

I know there are some reasonably priced aftermarket rims out there that will set this car off, and I may end up going that route. But honestly, I prefer originality and I'd be really happy to find a nice set of '95's to to get her back to stock trim.

BTW, can anyone tell me if the '95 rims were a single year production, e.g. are 94's or 96's interchangable?

Any NSX rims should fit any other NSX rims. The only issue is 97 and up NSX have larger calipers and earlier model wheels might not fit over the big brakes. I think those rims are called the Neeper's. Very mid 90's bling status.

Yea, I figured the pre '97 rims would all mix and match. What I was questioning was style. For instance, the '91 were 5-spoke rims and by '95 they were 7-spoke. Just wondering what years, if any, had identical rims to the '95 so I could add that to my E-Bay search.

Jeepers Neepers

Any idea what they're might be worth... $10?

Maybe a burger and a pack of smokes:biggrin:

very nice color. it being rare is makes it even nicer... but as all of said... wheels MUST go...

Love the color. As everyone else said get rid of those rims quick lol:biggrin:
they might be worth 200 bucks maybe.

Just saw this on KSXNSX's post. They'll probably look pretty good on the Midnight Pearl color in 18/19 combo.

I couldn't agree more about "updating" the car. Nice color, I like it. It's weird how the smallest things can really update the looks of an NSX.
