Paid for my NSX in full yesterday! It's a 1991 with 140,000 KMs on it. 10 years ago I bought an S2000 and I drove it to SCCA Championships and in general had a lot of fun with the car, burnt always had that hole in my heart from when I was 8 years old and saw my first NSX. The prices are starting to climb, so I talked with the wife and said its a now or never type thing. Sold my S2000 and an older VW Beetle as well as a bunch of my more expensive camera equipment and made the magic happen. This car is totally stock except for the double DIN addition that was done by the previous Japanese owner. Unfortunately it is the worst thing about the car, so once I get that sorted, the car should be 100%. Very stoked and looking forward to getting the smog on this thing completed so I can get a license plate slapped on there. See you on the road.

pass the steering on the left hand side...I say ...obscure pop musical reference alert...

Sweet find! Already has the shorty gears.

Hey. Sorry for delayed response. The car is a March 1991 car and landed in Washingtkn State April, so it came in at over 25 years old. Paperwork was filed for a Washington State title by the importer and I bought it on the spot. That title gets signed over to me and I register in my state like any other car. As far as Hawaii goes... In general automotive laws are about as bad as it will ever get in America here on O'ahu. Borderline gestapo.

Went and picked up ther car in Seattle. I promptly drove it across the country to Nashville TN , which was ... An experience anyway. Lots of thumbs up and other stuff along the way to keep me awake. Nashvillenis my permanent resident address, so this is where I will register the car before bringing it out to Hawaii. Enjoy some pics!

So its its all cleaned up and tucked away while I wait for the Washington Title to come in the mail. I'm headed back to Hawaii for the time being. As you can see from the pics, I battle snow, road closures, state troopers, boredom, and what turned into a nasty leak from the oil pan gasket. That will have to be replaced before continuing to drive the car. If you do anything more than light acceleration or drive over 70mph, the pressure just blows oil right past a failed section of the pan gasket. I was 500 miles away when I could smell oil burning while driving. Pulled over and I had a friggin meat smoker at full blast. Cleaned up what I could, found the leak (I even had oil spray across the back bumper) and took it easy, stopping every 100 miles to check. Took me about 50 hours including sleeping randomly

wow that is quite the trial but good for you that you didn't cook the motor....rhdftw...

Oil pressure never took a dive on me. I think it was a case of a little oil looking like a lot more. Not a fun sight 500 miles from home. Also not fun driving 65mph for 500 miles.

I know how you feel I drove 120 miles on 5 cylinders once.....kinda felt some funky resonances after 65...

Congratulations on your purchase and choice in color combo! So jealous that's it's RHD...FTW!

Well I have determined that like people have said... RHD in the states isn't everything... But not for the reasons people always say. I had no problem with visibility, changing lanes, or any driving aspect. I did stop to see my grandmother since I was passing the exit to her house at one point. Well, she lives in Graves County, KY. And when you roll into town in this, you get a whole lotta "that ain't a dang Chevy" kinda looks. My dad greeted me by saying "Collen, don't drive this into town cuz these redneck po-lice is liable to arrest ya while they figure out if you can be on the wrong side like a mailman can."

Lmao. That place has always been funny as hell to me. Good ole Mayfield.

PS- I had to take a toll road in Kansas and I put on the flashers, pulled up. Got out and walked around the car and got my ticket like a boss. This also produced many unfriendly stares. When I got to the pay booth I leaned over as best I could and the lady kindly let me know that "They sure done messed up your car when they made it,huh?" -Ancient proverb from a Kansas toll booth lady.

Pic out the front window with the view of the clouds hugging the mountains is really neat.

Do tell the story behind the pic with the trooper in the mirror . . . . .

Well I saw him as I was approaching. Wyoming is 80MPH speed limit and I was actually doing 77 according to GPS when I saw him. He didn't move as I passed, so I was thinking "cool". 5 minutes later I've been checking the map on my phone, looking at the mountains , actually I was trying to decide if at some point Wyoming was the bottom of an ocean. That's what it looks like.... Then out of the corner of my eye.. sSHIT. The same trooper is tailing me in the other lane. He kept pulling up and slowing down and let me tell you ... It's really hard to act innocent even when you weren't doing anything wrong. He gets behind and boom, lights and siren. I pull over and grab my paperwork and as he comes to the window he's like "aww shit, it IS right hand drive.... COOL!" Then he tells me about he just bought an R32 GTR that was imported. Showed me pictures of it and everything. I used to own an R33 GTR in Japan so I showed him pics of mine too. Then he asked to take pics with my car because his buddies weren't going to believe it. Lol.

His is official reason for stopping me was that he didn't see a tag. He admitted that when he rolled up me, he saw it in the window, but he decided to pull me over anyway to take pictures. Haha. His badge said serving since 2013, and he looked young to boot, so no biggie. He slowed me down a bit but it was a fun traffic stop to be a part of.

It's pass the Dutchie...but oh well

indeed catchy tune..thats how the game is played, wouldn't be much fun if I gave it away

congrats! There was a picture you posted with you doing 100 (and the tach only at ~2500rpm!) that threw me off at first - forgot you had a KM/H cluster!

P.S. if you ever want to swap fenders, please let me know!
