Hello Prime. My name is Mike aka Manny. I've been creeping on the forums for a couple years in search of my NSX. After much patience and a year and half of hard searching, I finally pulled the trigger on a '91 Berlina black/black.
Xavier (Tech7042) and I took a bus from Bethesda, MD to New York City last week. We stayed in a hotel for the night and then took a cab to Queens the next morning. I hadn't seen the car in person yet, so when we arrived at the detail shop where it was getting a nice wash, I didn't really know what to expect. I had seen a handful of pictures that didn't really show a lot.
Xavier and I went around the car with our flashlights and gave it a good once over. The details on the car are as follow:
106k miles
Clean carfax, clean title, no accidents, 3 owners
New seat covers in perforated black leather with red stitching.
CCU completely inoperable
Windows are slow
Needs trunk struts
A few very small oil leaks from cam seals, Vtec solenoids ect
Like new RSR exhaust (Rare)
Dali coolant tank
An intake that will be removed ASAP
Everything else stock and works properly including factory radio and speakers.
Paint is 8/10. not a single ding or dent, just needs a good detail.
I made the deal with the seller and we were driving the car back to Maryland by noon. The entire trip was exactly 24 hours long. The 4.5 hour drive home was uneventful and wonderful, despite freezing our asses off without heat haha.
I removed the CCU last night and it's in the mail to Briank. Xavier and I will be dropping the engine in the coming weeks for a FULL refresh. I'm going to replace every single piece of rubber on this engine as well as MLS head gaskets, head studs and LMA's for good measure. After that, I'll focus on making the interior mint and then move on to the exterior.
I'm very excited and can't wait for warm weather. Working on the car is just as fun to me as driving it (I say that now, I know).
Consider these...before pictures. Stay tuned for "after" pictures. I'll make a build thread.
