New NSX remind you of

Somehow the new NSX reminds me of Camaro z28 in some odd way.
The wheel design, the center hump on the hood, the beak, the underline of the door and the flow of the rear quarter panel.
Maybe I am biased since I also have a Camaro, what does new NSX remind you of ?

Side view = 12C
Front view = R8
Rear view = "it's an Acura!"

The R8 is very soft, curvy, and clean giving it a somewhat feminine look. By contrast the NSX looks more angular, sharp, and busy giving it the look of an angry Japanese Transformer. Thus in this particular area of the styling the NSX reminds me more of the C7.

I see more McLaren with slight R8 in the nose. I do not see any Camaro other than 4 tires.

Definitely the McLaren 12C - my all time favorite exotic. Which, if you don't mind living dangerously, you can buy first year out of warranty examples for the same price range as the NSX. That is if you don't mind owning a used one generation old supercar with one of the highest maintenance costs out there, as the reviewers proclaim the 650 replacement to be world's better - perhaps why they devalued nearly 50% in 3 years.
Inflated maintenance costs, extreme depreciation, and a new improved gen 2 model in a few years - gotta love exotic car ownership, where do I sign up

I think the side profile looks like a 458 without the pointy nose. I don't mind the looks although it would be nicer if it looked more like our current cars.

Anesthesia mentioned the Eclipse, which is something I've seen now a few times. I'm curious if N Spec can work his magic to do a side-by-side comparison of the two?

I can't believe I even entertained the notion. The Eclipse has more in common with the RSX or even 12c or 650S than it does with the new NSX.

I know looks are subjective, but R8 and Eclipse are not even close. I think people want to psychologically or spiritually relate the cars...

And once again for naysayers so No resemblance to the first gen NSX:

The biggest departure is the flying buttress versus single B/C pillar. The proportions and shape are the same. Even the details are reminiscent over 20+ years. But what do I know? I just spent countless hours accurately creating the first gen and second gen in 3D programs... They could be 3D printed to Full Scale if I had access to such a large CNC or Printer...

Well done! I laughed out loud when I saw "Feminine":D

lol my eye exam indeed has long been overdue :)

I do see the similarity between Mc12 and NSX on the side profile.

What I was trying to point out were some resemble in detail design elements.
The b/c pillar has similar line flow to the back, the location of tail reflector, the duck tail.
Even the steering wheel has similar layout of controls, chrome trim, middle slot.

No need to check your eyes which are just perfectly fine. Different people pick out distinctive details of any objects and that's what photography is all about. Everyone now sees what you see as you pointed that out.
Cheers,
Steve

I used to think it was the r8, but maybe it's the red, cuz the more I see different angles, I see a muscular 458.....

Can't wait to see it in a better color scheme.....

Though, it just doesn't grab you like the first time you saw the original......to me anyway.

Lol. We could in fact sit here all day and point out little details like side markers, steering wheels or size window pieces that look the same.

The fact of the matter is, these items are rather small and repeated on every car. We could probably go back 100 years in a different era of cars and tech and find similarity among details. The Camaro and 2006+ Civic must have a lot in common too, and so do a C230 if we are going to start naming random cars. However, none of these cars mentioned have anything similar in shape.

Don't underestimate the side profile as it determines the most important aspect of any road driven car for very obvious reasons with the idea of vectors. The latest McLaren is the closest thing to twin or brother the NSX has.

Thanks. And you can see the Eclipse is closer to shape to R8 once again

+1

Well put. The steering wheel in fact is the evolution of the wheel on all Honda's since mid 2000s.

Frankly though I like the steering wheel on the concept car more than the production one. But not a big deal... car looks awesome overall...

When comparing to the Huracan (described in the above photos as: "long") ..... I believe that this new NSX is one inch longer than the Lamborghini! Just sayin'.
