FYI - Just previewed the latest "10 Best" Car & Driver. Some new NSX speculative info:

Price: $143,000
Engine: 395HP and 415HP race version

The photo was of a yellow NSX with revised side intakes and the front clip of a S2000. At least it looked better than the Motor Trend drawings. Editorial also said the car would be capable of 200mph top speed.

Hmmmmm . . .

$143,000 DAMN! I thought the rumor was it was going to be steel to keep the price down around 55K what went wrong there? Did they go with carbon fiber instead of steel?

I haven't seent the new Car & Driver yet, but that does sound different from everything that I have heard also. $143K is WAY too much. Maybe they are planning on making 2 new cars and one will be a 55K sports car and the other will be the new NSX. Who knows. The motor trend article did say they were looking to take on the 360 Modena. I cant see a car that costs 55K taking on the Ferrari. (though a Z06 does kick butt!) I will have to check the new issue out because those pics of the new NSX in motor trend are terrible.

I don't want to be a spoil sport for some of you guys who are hoping for a cheap speed future fix from the new NSX, but personnaly, I certainly do hope the new car costs $143K, because:
1) my car is great representative of the "original" NSX-T and I have no interest in buying a new one, and
2) the market value of my car (and everyone else's first generation NSX) will definitely go up rather than the current downward trend.

In summary, if the second generation NSX is very expensive, regardless of the enhanced performance level, I predict that our "old" NSXs will appreciate like certain older Ferraris and Corvettes. They will be what's affordable, and therefore what gets bought. I think I may hold long on this fun "investment."

I wouldn't mind the NSX being 143K either. Not that I have that kind of money to spend on a car but I'd love to see Honda kick the crap out of the 360, 911 Turbo, or the Z06.

Put in the paddle shifters and you've got Jacque's BAR or Frentzen's Jordan. That would be sweet!

In addition, maybe then Comptech will knock down the price of that damn supercharger too.
