Vegas....Baby!
I bought my own xmas gift this year a Dell 700M laptop. If your in the market, save yourself the trouble doing lots of research, buy the Dell 700M. Don't believe me, check out PC mag,

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1726176,00.asp

I travel for a living and this laptop rocks! Upgrade to the 85w battery for 5 hour run time.

PC mag info:

The 12.1-inch widescreen LCD (1,280-by-800), has a high-contrast that makes a difference when watching DVDs or working in bright light. We also like the built-in 8X DVD+RW drive, even though it adds weight. Other features include a memory card slot and the standard ports: two USB 2.0, one FireWire, one VGA, and one S-Video. The keyboard's 17.5-mm key pitch (92 percent of full size) is small yet manageable.

With the strongest processor and fastest hard drive here, the 700m streaked past the others in performance. Its weak spot is its poor battery life (2:01) with the four-cell battery. For travel, opt for the eight-cell battery ($110), which will double battery life.

Overall, the Dell Inspiron 700m offers a good combination of features in a small yet powerful package. And it's the least expensive Windows system in our ultraportables group.

u might wanna check this one out ...its my next system!

this article was written a while back when the M60 was just released so its faster now w/ the nvidia quadro go1000 and a 2.1ghz Pentium M processor which would benchmark to match a ~3.4ghz P4

oh btw how much did you pay for your inspiron 700m? just curious...

thanks,

You forgot to mention the 700M's BEST feature -- it's extremely low weight of only 1.7Kg (varies on configuration though)!!! That's very impressive

I've actually been looking at a Inspiron 9200 Notebook for a client; CentrinoM 1.6GHz, 512MB, 60GB HDD, 17" Widescreen (1440x900res), 128MBRadeon 9700, 8x DVD+/-RW.... sounds amazing. Anyone seen a 17" on a notebook though?

Electro: lol, i saw the M60 too and though "cool name for a PC"... tell all your mates you own an M60 and they'll freak out! :D
