New GTech Pro RR data acquisition system for road racing

Russ,

this thing is a gimmick only. Tried a few run and the inconsistency is amazing!
What about the regular G-tech pro for 0-60 and 1/4 mile (e.t. & MPH) data only ?

WAY WAY too optimistic. it has 1/4 mile vairations of up to a second.

I compared it to a 1/4 mile run at the strip on 2 separate occasions and noticed the differences. I was running my 97 prelude. The first run it was off by 0.6 secs, the second run it was off by 0.9 secs.

i bought mine from a guy who used to use his old style gtech pro at the track. He has done 50-100 passes with both track timer and gtech timer, and said they were ALWAYS within 0.1 sec of each other on the 1/4 mi pass. don't recall if it was high or low, but was extremely consistent over the course of the 2 years he used it, till he traded it to me for some tools..
i do recall that the MPH will always be a bit higher, because it measures you at exactly the 1/4 mile, vs the track which averages your speed over a short distance

The GTech (or any g-meter device for that matter) needs to be securely mounted (i.e. no wobbling). It can't give useful results if it's stuck loosely to the windshield, or if the power cord tugs on it as you accelerate, and so forth.

I ran 12.9 on my gtech pro competition. I was running software 3.02. Now I upgraded to 4 and it now has the road racing feature. I was just at t-hill, i need to download my RR data. what vehicle weight should i set it at? i had it at 3450. I weigh about 250.

Ryans,

Wow  , very impressive #'s, I started to play with my "G-Tech Pro" and I couldnt break 14's though my trap speeds were consistent (averaging 107 MPH in the 1/4). I guess I need to learn how to launch properly

I dropped the clutch at about 4k, did a lot of wheel spinning but it hooked up good after that.

I just Gtech'ed my 91 SE-R. The HP was right on the money. I had dyno'd my SE-R on a dynapack dyno at 110 HP. The gtech said I maxxed out at 111 HP so I'm pretty impressed with it's accuracy.
