Always loved the Gen 1 one since it came out. But I was in no position to obtain one back then. My '87 Legend coupe was all I needed. Upon seeing the refresh in '02 at NY show, decided it had to go on mental Bucket list for future... if and when the right one at the right price ever showed. I started looking casually about 7 or 8 years ago. Took too long to act on some and missed a few good ones.
Then shortly after retiring in mid June '13, I put a deposit down on the Gen 2 ( though back then it was a lesser car, lesser $'s, and due in a year or so). Of course that dragged on for quite some time. But desire for a Gen 1 never left. Met some new car guy friends (Fall '15) with Gen 1's. After driving them I just got more hooked. And every time I saw their cars I just drooled over theirs, much like I did in NY back in '02. (even though theirs older with pop ups etc.) So in last 6 or so months have been looking more intensely and more seriously for the right one. Found a few but overpriced or just not right. Then Found "the one" last week, came to terms with seller, and took delivery yesterday (6/8/16). I'm quite picky so will be doing a few minor tweaks and then get it registered and on the road. It is a low miles (< 33 k) and well maintained car so I'm feeling PDG. I have to admit I'm a bit more anxious to get it out and on the road than worry about the Gen 2 delivery right now. Even though my order was just locked in on June 3'rd. I've been into a wide mix of cars to date and now need to get up to speed on something else. Feeling PDG about that. I look forward to all the info, knowledge, and help available here.

Congrats and enjoy in good health. Pics are in order. And would be interesting to get an old vs new comparo from somebody taking delivery of both in a short interval.

Thanks.
Day before delivery, I learned my long term ( ~ 40 years) insurance company Nationwide won't insure the '02. o I can't register it yet. However they have arrangements with Hagerty as a sub supplier. I'm awaiting some interesting insurance option possibilities with Hagerty which I may qualify for. So In mean time I'm in midst of doing a few tweaks and personalizing on the '02. I should have it on the road soon so I can enjoy and become more familiar with it.
As most know, Acura is being very tight lipped with information on the '17. Seems nobody with earlier orders locked well before mine really know when to expect delivery... yet. The ~60 Day paint cure wrinkle could be a major contributing factor of current delays on serial number cars. With mine locked on 6/3 I'm just guessing/hoping (for now anyway) delivery ~ Aug/Sept arrival. Hopefully I'll get a few months with it before winter hibernation.

you will be most awesome in the nsxca and prime....owning both new and old...have fun with them.

Thnx.
But I can't let my head get over-sized.. yet anyway.

SUBscribed gadgetman!

I was never a silver sports car fan until NSXPO 2007 when I had the pleasure of seeing a Silverstone 2002-newer with the silver interior  Man does that combo POP! Congratulations to you.

Awaiting your photos, please?!?!!

Congratulations Gary!

But, the standard of all car forums applies here also.
Pictures, or it didn't happen!

I can't wait to see the 2017 sitting next to your new 2002.

Mike and I will have to bring the flashy red to the party.

Congratulations on owning the best looking color NSX there is ;) What color is the '17?

Can't go wrong with Silverstone. My S2000 and NSX are both that color. Easy to keep and less apt to draw the wrong kind of attention.

Some pictures I took of your car the other day.

Gen 2 will be Source Silver with Saddle, Polished Interwoven wheels with Red Calipers.
I like really the red pearl but know that will be most popular. I like to be a but different
The Red has pop and the silver will be more classic I think.
Plus in assorted testing I did with dealers swatches, the silver shadowed the best (like Silverstone does) so should accent the curves and lines quite well/better in most lighting conditions.
We'll see.
I wish the '17 had same as Silverstone shade but the Brighter S Silver might surprise me.. I hope.
Told my dealer when their new facility has grand opening I would let them have both to display for a short time... (as long as roped off from public hands etc.)

Nice pictures, looks like you have a nice lineup of cars. Super silver GT-R is sweet, my favorite color for a GT-R. Congratulations on the 2002 NSX purchase.

Thanks. I have been unsettled on ordering yet another toy ( 2017 NSX) in a shade of silver as I also have a 350Z in chrome silver. Not seeing real pix of the gen2 in silver added to the issue. The V Red Pearl is so georgeous but is also the most ordered color. We'll see if I'm good or regret my decision

four car garage? YES PLEASE. :) Very nice congrats.

Actually much more than a 4 car
The attached house has 2 cars

this pic is of Front of the "Toy Box" which is 46 w x30 D.
those doors 18 x 9.
currently inside is 6 cars, full size Dodge 2500 , a 21' cuddly (four wins boat), 3 motorcycles... And stuff.
Behind the right door are 3 lifts. Two facing out right behind door and 1 sideways behind those 2. For a net 3 over 3 in one bay.

Several years I dug into the hill added on to rear of the Toy Box with the 16 x 46 "Car Cave" addition. 10 x 8 door and behind that /inside are 2 single post lifts so has 4 cars ( 2 over 2) plus 2 more bikes... Plus other stuff.

I love how the styling of the Nsx is pooping on that of the gtr all day long. The gtr is a beast and I plan on buying one, but sheesh, it is fugly. Good thing it is fast!

That's so beautiful it brings a tear to my eye.

If you want to share, I would love to see the rest of the toys + garages.

I'm a sucker for those things. I currently only have a 20x20 but it is good enough for me for now. One day though...
