First of all, let me officially introduce myself,.. I am Nazty97 of Clublexus.com, who has been a member since 2001. I am a former owner of 2 Nissan Maxima's ( 97 & 88 ), 240SX SE ( 95 ), 300ZX ( 96 - former member of twinturbo.net - nazty96 ), SC400 (97), currently a 99 RX300, and a 06 GS300,...all of which were / are modded. The NSX is a car I've been contemplating for a long time, and is the only car on my list of cars as a kid that I set out to buy, that I haven't purchased, and it's that time.

I am selling my GS300 to buy a 2002 - 2004 NSX. I have considered 97 and newer,... my biggest grip with some NSX's were the interior trim. I like the 2002's... plus the lights... my question is, what's the first year that the interior got a significant upgrade?? Was it 2000 or 2001??? or later?

The second question is, does anyone know of aero kits that had the additional air scoops that were not fiberglass?

I believe all year (US spec) NSXs have similar interior, where its all leather seats, door panels and dash.

The only interior changes in 02's are the perforated leather on the hand brake cover, steering wheel, door and seat inserts; And different color dash trim and guages. Other than that, color options vary from year to year, but not so much in materials.

Interior changes are not too significant from year to year.

The interior of the 2002's look the part of the cost of this car, whereas, the interior of say, a 90's model looked a lil' lack luster in comparsion to say a 300ZX or SC3 or 400,... however, still light years ahead of any american sports car interior of the same year.

EVERYTHING else about the car I love. The reason I posed that question, is someone had a 2000 or a 2001 for sale, and the seats looked perferated on the interior shots, and I didn't think I ever recalled seeing that on anything older than 2002.

Hey Nasty97

I've seen your posts on CL

, Welcome to Prime, So much good information and people here

I'm sure you've run across this in the WIKI section but just in case I thought I'd share this link with ya. Changes by Year WIKI

Good Luck on your search,
Larry

Thanks alot,... gotten so used to the setup over at CL, still feeling my way around here to see where stuff is. I'll dig a lil over in the link you attached.

Hopefully, I can get rid of the GS300 soon, and it won't be a lengthy time frame between vehicles.

- question answered - 2000 models now can be a consideration... even though I am still leaning towards the 2002, the rear valence is nice, and the HID lights are attractive and more effective.

oh if your OK with 2000+ there is a GPW 2000 in Carrollton, tx I've been watching. Its been for sale on Autotrader for a little while. I know nothing about the car, but if its still for sale in Januarly when I down there I plan to check it out.

Its a little bit of a drive for you, but if you like white (like I do!) it might be worth checking out.

Seats were changed in 2000

yeah, i looked at it... calculating cost of an aero kit, if i did a pre 02 vs just buying a 02, HID conversion vs stock HID on a 02.

I does seem rather clean though...

The HID swap for the pre-2002 retractable lights is fairly easy and inexpensive, so if you're worried about light output on a pre-2002 car, it's not that big a deal. But, if you like the look of the 2002+ front end, then it makes sense to just wait for one of those cars.
