>nice so will this be the new Crystal cove?<

Not likely. The show at Ford PAG seems to have some traction with several hundred cars showing up. Big free parking lot, restrooms, cafeteria and a welcoming host is a pretty nice combination.

Seems to me we tried a car show at the beach several years ago and everyone complained about the sea spray and salt air being problematic for guys that take care of their paint.

This has had a huge resopnse from other car clubs. Parking lot is empty in the am. 614 spots. The show in Irvine only has 402 spots. Places to eat and sit down. CC was great because some babes came out. Cars and coffee has no atmosphere. Wait till you see the joggers at Balboa. Try it. I know you will like it! The exotic guys are looking for a new place other then Cars and Coffee. Hint......

The spot below notice the amount of open spaces at mid day.......1.50 won't kill ya.

Having lived on Balboa I can vouch for what a great spot this would be to hold a car show. And personally, I'm grateful to anyone who puts the ime and effort into organizing these events.

But I'm concerned about a couple of things.

1) Parking on Sat. mornings during summer will be a nightmare down there. Even by 9am.
2) Traffic on and off of Balboa (esp. during summer) is horrible. If you're going during the summer, bring some patience.
3) Looky loo's. While PAG does not have the scenery that Crystal Cove did, it does seem to cater better to the enthusiasts who care about cars and not folks selling crap or kids stealing stem caps, etc. I think/hope the location at PAG will help keep that feel. If you're down on Balboa, you've got a lot more than just the sand off the beach to worry about when it comes to your car.
4) Enforcement. Irvine is no oasis for modified cars with loud exhausts but Balboa is one step to the right of Genghis Khan. I'm no advocate of street racing, reving your motor, etc. but NB police are not widely known to be tolerant of anything.

Area business are on board. They called me and said they are going to make it very "comfortable" for us with law enforcement and city council. The first couple times down, just use common sense. We will cross the summer crowd issue in 7 months. So for now. Have fun at the beach!

That is some badass camera you got there. The picture quality is amazing. I thought I was watching CSI Miami!

All these type of car shows makes me want to buy a Ferrari 430 Stradale when it comes out and forget the hold Lotus Exige. *sigh* Im just not cut out for rolling deep with the deep pocket boys.
