Hi all,

Reading this board over the past few months has been very helpful, no doubt fueling my desire for an NSX. Five years ago I bought a beautiful, low milage '95 NSX in Minnesota and drove it for a year (red). For reasons too long to explain here, I traded it in on my "dream car," a new '01 BMW M5. Within a week I realized I'd made a mistake, but it was too late.

For the past 4 1/2 years, the M5 accumulated dust in my garage and only 9K miles on the odometer. Nothing was wrong with the car, but that NSX had stolen my heart. There was no getting around it. On Monday (March 28) a yellow '02 NSX from Acura of Libertyville in IL showed up on a truck here in Phoenix. (They now have the BMW). Tuesday I cleaned it and today took it over to have Mark Basch in Tempe to have him check it out. It has just over 11,000 miles and seems perfect. Other than the never-before-seen Continental tires it is wearing, Mark found no flaws either. It's hard to walk past the garage door without going in for a quick peek.

Information on this board has already helped me find and order the right CD Changer for it (with the appropriate adapters) and clean and wax it correctly. You've pointed me to both Mark Basch and the Science of Speed guys. So, thanks! I hope to meet some of the Phoenix NSX'ers in the future.

Regards,

And of course, Doc, your car does PARTLY qualify for that section too!

I'll be in the Bee section with Ken

Thanks Casper91, MSXWind, SCS2K, docjohn and WhiteNSXs for the warm welcome. I hope it's not two soon to ask a couple of questions:

a. Per the DIY guide, I've purchased the Alpine CHA-S634 and have ordered the 2 adapter plugs and the changer bracket from Acura. When ordering the parts, I got mixed feedback on the Ai-Net version Alpine changer actually working with the NSX. Besides "nsxtreme - ara [email protected]" who posted that terrific DIY with the great photo's and install guide, has anyone else actually done this and does it work?

b. The tires on my car are Continental ContiSportContact™ 2. I went to www.conti-online.com and after a bit of looking, found them. Here is what they said about them:
* Bionic Contour for precise steering and braking
* BiNet tread compound provides optimum traction and handling on wet/dry surfaces
* Stiff ribbed tread pattern maintains stable contact during braking and cornering

PURE PERFORMANCE FOR THE TRUE CAR ENTHUSIAST
* Asymmetrical tread pattern optimizes each side of tread
* Excellent handling and outstanding traction
* Bionic Contour (Advanced Mold Concept - AMC) - narrow, rounded ground contact patch when driving
* Deformation-Resistant Shoulder Grooves for water dispersion
* Asymmetrical with solid outer shoulder for optimum handling.
* Extra wide circumferential grooves for efficient water dispersion

They also have a picture of them. Tell me if you don't think they look sort of odd. Has anyone else ever tried them on their NSX? If so, what was the result? Oops, I tried to insert them here, but failed. I need to read the "how to upload images" FAQ.

I've done the CD changer swap in my car and would be happy to help with yours. It's quite simple to do.

I can't help you with the tires but I can say that I don't know anyone who's used the Conti's on an NSX.

From a fellow valley resident: Welcome to Prime!

I'm currently in the market for a 97+ Spa Yellow, but there really aren't many available right now.

Would love to meet you and your car one day. :D

Congrat's and welcome back.

Let's see some pic's of that baby.

Well, I finally figured out how to post a photo and put two up there.

I don't know about the Pavillions event and got here too late to find out what it was.

I had the Contisport Contact (original version) as OEM equipment on my BMW330Ci. They were IMO a marginal tire. I switched to Pilot Sport PS2s and have been very pleased. Not the same version or car, but the best I can do! I'd probably go back to the OEM NSX bridgestones whenever it is convienent on your car.
