New BMW 7 series

Bought a 745 last Saturday, awesome car. Originally bought it for the wife, but after driving home 658 miles in 6 hrs 23 min I might get her something else and keep it for myself. Rides smooth as silk on the hwy, tons of power and still got 22 mph with the cruise on 100.

The new 7 looks good. You can see a lot of the 6 in the front end design. I'll miss the look of the "Bangle Bustle" trunk though. Some of us like junk in the trunk.

looks familiar!

I might be in the minority in that I like the current generation of the 7-series. The mid model-run "refresh" made it very palatable for my tastes, just as Honda did w/ the Accord for 2006.

The next gen' 7-series...

Conservatism, yet elegance!

Well Osiris_x11 this is not how the next facelifted bmw 7 series will look like. It is how auto bilds graphic artists think it will look like. :)

against the grain!

Ohhh... so there's still hope that the next-gen. 7-series might be 'unique' & odd!

Oh man! lol... what can I say, I like the grill!?!

(most of the other '05 RL pics have it looking like an Accord on 'roids... )

91 X, I'm in full agreement! Particularly w/ BMW, it was rather novel that the 3-series, 5-series, and 7-series each has their own identity w/ their current versions... simply not different sizes of a similarly styled vehicle (ie. Mercedes Benz w/ their C-class, E-class, and S-class that are all too much similar to eachother... in certain aspects).

Personally, I think the interior looked very business-like. I like it.

Well said. To really appreciate the interior, ergonomics, seats, comfort, and luxury... gotta touch it, feel it, sit in it, etc. Feels like being in a 1st class cabin in a jet (both front & rear seats, consoles, controls!).

I might have to keep an eye on these babies to see how much they depreciate in a year or so. . .

I second that vote on chris bangle...........he created many enemies with his controversial design....sorry to say he is from my home state of wisconsin !!

I still have to say though, that the 7 series whether 740il,750il or 745li are one the most enjoyable large sedans to drive...

I can't believe there are spy shots/ artists impressions barely 4 years/mid life into the life cycle. I was a 7 series E38 owner and I remember when the current e65 shots came out it didnt have many people crying out for one. Its design was very radical and supposedly lead the future for BMW and the automative design standards. I think Bangle hate to say it succedded cos teh Audi MMI has been praised which is a simplified I drive and the new S class interior is a spitting image of the 7's but yet there are'nt any critical comments. I suppose we're use to it.
Now these new 7 series pictures which looks like its taken design cues from the current 3 series. BMW haven't pushed the envelope like they did with the E65 so I think they have taken a step back and gone the conservative route and not set new trends.
