We met this year up in Austin, a few weeks before I moved out this way. I'm a bit far from Hawthorne (about 100mi) but I do get up to Orange County every few weekends. I'd drive up this long weekend but will be in West Texas but if you haven't found anything out by next weekend, let me know and I should be able to make the trip up.
