I have been out of town on business. Thanks for the replies. I did try making the connection while playing a song on the iPod. I also tried it with the iPod off and paused. Didn't help.I am not connecting anything to the back of the head unit. I am dealing with the unit in the car I just purchased. There is a USB cable in the console compartment. No other cables. I hooked the USB port on the Kenwood cable to that female USB port in the console compartment and the connector to the iPod.I guess I am going to have to find a local Kenwood installer to help.
