Need help removing the interior plastic finger piece that opens the fuel door

I want to remove the vinyl covered interior piece that covers the fuel door release mechanism and cable.

To remove this piece, I have to remove the plastic lever cover that you put your finger under to lift up to open the gas cap.

This is the piece with the "gas pump" drawing on it that you put your finger under before lifting up.

Does anyone know how this plastic lever comes off?

you pull real hard. twords the front of the car and it will come off

I tried that and it wouldn't come off. HELP!

pull the gas door lever up about half, then press it out twords the car.

if its never been removed it will be hard as hell to get off. but it will come off trust me.

when I first took mine off i thought I was gonna break it.I found out its solid plastic its not going to break.

I will post a pic in a minute of what it looks like I will go take mine off so you can see how it holds in place.

Ok heres the pic of what it looks like under it,

as you can see there are 2 slits that it can go in depending on if its RHD or US LHD cars,

its solid plastic so just pull it man once it come off you will see wow that was easy.
