So last weekend I was in Reno and I vallet the X, and when I picked my car up my oil temp was unusually high but I didnt realize it til I had just gotten to the freeway. Which voids them of any fault since I took it off the lot. Anyways I drove home and maintained my speed so my temp wouldnt get to hot, and had to stop a few times even my engine temp was low but oil temp sky rockets. Could this be fried piston rings? I also found rubber on my intercooler during one of my stops on the way home. (It wasnt me)

Think I put this in the wrong thread

Do you have a separate oil temp gauge in your car? The gauge on the dash measures coolant, not oil.

"Don't replace the crankshaft if it only needs an airfilter" !

Check if the wire to the temp sending unit is good. If it is then check the temp probe itself, if so, then check the indicator.

Cheers
