Need help comparing Insurance Companies

I've been a long-time Allstate guy and yesterday my wife got a quote from Progressive that can save us a lot of $$ on our car insurance. She wants to switch but I'm not sold yet as I'm concerned about other things than just price. I'd appreciate feedback/experiences with your auto insurance company (Progressive and others) relative to how claims were handled etc.

JDPower has ratings of auto insurance companies on their website here. Based on my own experience and those of others I know, they appear to be quite accurate.

Also, you can get quotes from multiple companies from insure.com and insweb.com

I have Unitrin Direct and their rates were the lowest I could find. The Noble is insured by Progressive and when I got a quote from Progressive for all of our cars, the price was over double what we currently pay Unitrin (01 M3, 98 NSX, 01 Allroad, 02 Yukon Denali). We have had to do one claim and it was done without any problems. Unitrin actually pushed me to get things settled because they wanted everything settled within a week.

I don't know if you have State Farm by you but I've been with them since I was 16. I've had claims from damage done to me and it's been very easy to work with them. Also, one perk that I like is in the middle of the winter, if the roads are clear, I'll call them up and put collision on my nsx for one day so that I can go out and drive it. I did it just last Friday and will most likely do it tomorrow and Sunday as well. They know what I'm doing, but I never get charged for this "service."
