Need DIY for Front Shock R&R

Bilsteins finally on the way and I can't seem to find a good DIY with pictures for installing the shocks. Dano's garage or something?

Thanks for the help. Anyone else ordered from eshocks.com? Free shipping and $271 for front Bilsteins.

OK. I guess I cannot use the new Google search on here very well, but I'm trying. I did find Danoland garage and no DIY for shocks. Looked through the FAQ and it wasn't very detailed...basically said it was very hard and you have to stand on the suspension to get old REAR shocks out...plus NO pictures.

Also, I cannot find Nick's (Matteni) old, detailed account of his adventures of R&R'ing his springs which, if nothing else is always great for a good laugh.

Nick, can you direct me, or repost for those who haven't seen it before. Maybe the forum has changed and the archieves don't go that far back.

Anyone have a better way of "moving the suspension" to gain access to R&R the front shocks? Pry bar? Come-along?

If you are doing just the front, just follow the instruction on the service manual. Fronts are relatively easy and the shocks will slide out without too much struggle. It may help if you turn your steering when you are trying to pull the shocks out.

I had a difficult time removing my OEM shocks...I used a long (6 foot/2M) pry bar to push (ok, jump on) down the lower control arm.

I also used a jack and "wonder bar" to help push up the shock. Installing OEM shocks is quite challenging, especially if you don't want to damage anything.
