I know there are quite a few of you guys out here running the CTSC so I wanted to get some local advice

I'm looking to purchase a NA2 with a CTSC, high boost kit. It also has AEM management. I drove in the car last night and was absolutely impressed with it's acceleration . One of the fastest cars I've driven in.

My concerns are:

-tuning issues (reliability)
-running without cats (high boost blows them out)
-constant maintenance?
-premature engine wear? Detonation?

Just want to make sure if this is a good way to go.

Thanks in advance

-Simon

I have the CTSC kit but i am running the stock boost. I have had no problems with mine since the installation (January 2006). Running higher boost always is less reliable than running stock boost unless the motor is built for it. But 3 pounds isnt that much higher so i dont think there would be any serious issues as reliablility goes. But you might wanna ask yourself why hes selling it? He might be having problems with it. If you buy it send it to ramon to have it checked out to make sure nothin is about to break:smile:

Definately will be much more fun than driving a SC s2k!!!

Hope you find a good one!! Had mine twice and wouldn't buy without one!

Thanks for your input

He's selling because he never drives it. Miles are pretty low. And the exterior condition coincides with the mileage. Additionally, he was referred to me by a good friend that has known him for years. I will definitely have an expert go over the car if I decide to purchase.

its reliable depending on who tunes it.
-running without cats (high boost blows them out)

You will run into that probably even with new cats on. They will be burned out eventually.
-constant maintenance?

Constant I would say no but you will need to replace things quicker than normal.

-premature engine wear?

Yes depending on how you drive it and you will gun it a lot im sure. ;)

Detonation?

Anything is possible if you abuse the car and not take care of it.

Just want to make sure if this is a good way to go.

If it is clean and a good deal then go for it. Any modded motor with F/I is going to wear out faster than normal. As long as you are on top of your maintenance and you are not a hack then the car should be fine. Assuming you have the right tuner and builder look after it for you. Nothing is guranteed but at least with the right people and care it should last you a whiles before having to rebuild the motor.

From looking at most of all the CTSC out there.....there are little to no problems from people running them.

Good luck man! and lets go for a spin if you get it.

^^^If I get it you'll be one of the 1st to know Ed.

I'm super anal when it comes the care and maintenance of my cars. When I sold my S2k to my bro it had 86k miles on it. He now has 103k on the meter and recently dyno'd the car at Church Automotive. He got 215 rwhp! I believe it was all the over-the-top maintenance done in the first 86k

Back to topic, I'm doing a little more research before I pull the trigger. Stay tuned

buy it. you had 5 people breathing down your neck to buy it today

its not a matter of "if" but WHEN.

ps whre is the link to the car. i want to C
