Hey guys... I'm buying the car from this thread.

Anyways, I'd like to have an inspection done and was wondering where the best place to do it was?

I know of Seth and Chris at SoS and Mark Basch, but am unsure if 'inspecting a car for new buyer' is too... well... pedestrian for them or not. ;) If I take it to Scottsdale Acura, will they have a mechanic there that knows the NSX inside and out? Oh, I should also mention that this car has a comptech supercharger, b&b exhaust, and various other goodies I'd like to make sure are okay. This car was originally bought in Mesa and has spent it's life here, so someone may already be familiar with the car.

Thanks in advance!

if I were you I would absolutely have Mark Basch or SOS look at it. Acura of North Scottsdale does have a tech there who owns an nsx. Or at least they did in 2003 when i bought mine..

I assume that as long as your $$ is the same color as everyone else's SOS and/or Basch accurate svc will be happy to inspect...fwiw the # to BAS is 4809688010, i can't recall the sos #.

Anyone have a mirror? :D

Oh! you said $$... I thought you said "a$$". Was thinking to myself, "well *that's* a new one!"

Thanks guys! I'll give Mark a call first and see if/when he can fit me in. If he's too busy, I'll give the SoS guys a call.

Thanks much!

P.S. Cool to know that Acura up here has a tech that knows the NSX. I was worried that if my alternator went out, they wouldn't know I needed a replacement from a 1992 Prelude. ;)

Mark Basch offers a pre-sale inspection around a $100 or so I think...when I bought my car the seller took care of it for me.

Sounds good. I have a similar agreement. The seller isn't taking care of the inspection, but has faith that the car needs nothing and agreed to pay for anything that shows up as a problem. We'll see how that goes. *crosses fingers* :)

Go to Acura before you buy the car and have them run the history on the VIN#. If Acura did the maintenance on it they can tell you what they have done to the car.

Just wanted to give an update and thank everyone for your help.

I gave Mark a call and took my car in last week. He gave me a fantastic deal on the inspection and found that the only problem was a couple of air conditioning lines were kinked a little bit due to one of the two tow loops - specifically, the one under the driver's side headlights - meeting a curb somewhere in it's history. They weren't leaking, but Mark recommended getting them replaced as a preventative measure rather than having my air conditioning going out in the middle of summer. (I'd call that a catastrophic failure here in the valley ;))

The hoses came in yesterday, so I took her in again this morning and had them replaced along with a parking light I noticed was out. Bob, Tom, Mark, and especially Dina were all a very big help and walked me through the whole process.

I'm looking forward to having such competent and trusted technicians such as the ones at Basch nearby to help me out in times of need. :) I'm sure I'll run into Seth and Chris at SoS soon enough. That new audiophile system they've got looks mighty nice.
