(1999) I have a leak around my oil pan and need to replace the gasket. My question is how do you remove the front header in order to remove the oil pan? Do I have to remove the suspension cross member (front) and all of the suspension braces? How many labor hours will a shop take to do the job? Thanks

I can't speak for the 1999 header set but on my 91 stock headers you didn't have to remove the entire header system just I think the cat. Yours might be different or I may be thinking wrong.

If you have aftermarket headers you'll have to do what you said "dropping them". I don't know how many hours labor it is.

Can't you simply drop the oil pan enough to remove the old gasket and slide in the new one if headers are blocking the complete removal of the pan?

I have replace my gasket on a 2000. Without taking the header off there is only about 2 inches of clearance. To remove the header you do have to remove the front beam. The tricky part of the front beam is removing the motor mount. It is easier to remove bolt of motor mount that goes through the front beam. Facing the fron of the car the bolt is loosened from the left as the right is a nut that is held in place by the beam. I used to 6 inch extension with a universal joint, it is awkward to get at. I also have access to a lift. Getting the bolt and nut together is also tricky. The header has pretty good acces once the beam is off.
