I installed an OEM NA1 NSX-R cluster backing, as well as Popdesign yellow needle overlays today:

The steering wheel is out of a 1993 NSX-R; I am waiting on the trim ring, ordered two weeks ago from Dali (apparently its out of stock) - everything works (eg horn, etc.)

I also installed a Defi Boost VSD on the dash today, which displays vacuum and boost (in metric) on the windshield, and also has led warnings for peak boost (yellow) and overboost (red).

SAWEET. I would love to see nighttime shots of the VSD in action!

I am going to take some tonight, the above pic is from my cell phone camera, and everything looks washed out. The display is readable, although it is somewhat difficult in full sun... I am going to have a square of slightly mirrored tint installed where the display projects.

The VSD itself is fully setup, with the peak boost set to go off at 0.55 bar, and overboost at 0.65 bar - I drove around the block, and read vaccum levels and, after a slight throttle push, boost at 0.10 bar, so everything is in order. I velcro'd the control module to the side of the center arm rest.

Very nice. True NSX affionados live and die in the small details ;)

Is it hard to take apart the dash for something like this?

Like most jobs, it's more tedious than challanging, several steps for one end result.

The greater challange is in sourcing the parts... I was able to buy (3) of these OEM Honda NSX-R cluster backing pieces, and that was all I could find. I have one in my car, and two other socal nsx'rs have the other panels. The needle stickers were what I was most concerned with, as I was afraid of misapplying them, and needing to buy replacements (they were $100 USD after shipping from popdesign, for tiny stickers), but they went on smoothly.

Most of the day was spent removing the interior so I could run the wires for the VSD, etc. - the total time for everything was around 4 hours, including a trip to Radio Shack.

looks good and thank you.

btw. the silver ground trim goes behind the wheel.
and you need the NSX-R one which i have for you. it has 9bolt holes instead of the standard 6.

the first three bolts holds the NSX-R wheel to the NSX-R hub, then the other six holds the black trim ring and horn to the wheel.

I thought the same thing like Eric pointed out.
Nice set up though:)
