This question has bugged me for a while now...I see a lot of pictures of the Nürburgring track, and on certain corners there seems to be a ton of writing in chalk or something...I can never figure out what it's there for - anyone know?
These are writings (only on the Nordschleife, not on the GP track) made by fans prior to some special events just like the 24 hours race and in the past even for some bicycle races on this track. They should encourage some drivers and show the passion for various car brands.
Some signs are also made by the marketing pros of some car related companies and sponsors as advertisement - very good to see when the TV coverage of an event is supported by helicopters.
Some people also writes "I crashed here...and here and here" with paint on the asphalt. I think I saw a few of those when down there. Maybe I am wrong.
