Question??

I just changed out a buddy's factory suspension for Tein Flex's and I noticed a alum block in the front springs. Never seen it before but defanatley looked like it kept the springs from compressing... The car was pretty high before the swap and I'm still unsure why they were there..

My thought would be from the factory were put in to be able to ship the cars on the trailers to keep them higher...

Any ideas?

Here's the before and after shots.

That height is ridiculously high. I'm surprised NO ONE brought this to the owners attention when being serviced???

They make kits that have that type spring spacers to firm and raise the suspension. I've never seen them used on a sports car, mostly they're used on 4WD trucks. My guess is a PO put them on because he was scraping the chin spoiler on his driveway. There should have been equal spacers on each spring.
Happy Motoring!

It doesn't look any different than stock really.

I've seen those things at pepboys.

Years back, a goofball friend of mine owned a POS ford Futura and the back end sagged real badly. He shoved some of those aluminum wedges into the coils of the rear springs to "fix" it. haha

Did it look like these?

Is there any photo for the spacer?

Exactly but had almost a 1/2 drive spot in it... That's how I got them out... not fun... but exact

S2K did have those and you were suppose to remove them when you performed the pre delivery inspection. So I assume whoever installed the Tein's, they also forgot to remove the rubber spacers

I've seen the ones with the spot for the 1/2" socket drive before. The last owner probably put them in to get the nose a little more clearance.
