This weekend was interesting to say the least. On Saturday I installed the CT short shift kit on my NSX. Or rather I should say, Trev (ffffanman) installed the short shift kit with a little help from me. This was a lot of fun to do and I’m very happy with the result. I was not sure what to expect but I easily adjusted to the change.
As we were getting ready to take it for a test drive, Trev lowered the passenger window and unfortunately it dropped to the bottom of the door. I know Trev felt bad but it wasn’t anything he did ... it was going to fail regardless who pushed the button. In fact, I was lucky it failed when it did because Trev showed me how to take the door panel off. We taped the window in the up position so I could drive it home. As I was driving home I kept thinking ... why didn’t I do the window thingy fix when I bought the car. I have the new parts from Dali, but I always felt uncomfortable taking the door panels off the car.
On Sunday I researched the problem on Prime to familiarize myself with the components and 2 ½ hours later the door was back together and the window goes up and down as slow as it did before.
Some observations from this weekend:
- Trev knows his way around the NSX.
- I was impressed with the way our cars are put together.
- There is a lot of good information on Prime because many members are willing to share their knowledge with the rest of the community.
- I drove Trev's supercharged NSX and Wow! I could get used to a little more HP.
