I just bought my car a few months ago and when i was test driving it i used the radio but didnt pay too much attention to it. well after i bought the car i noticed the stereo really sucked turns out the door speakers werent working so i pulled the door panels off and i dont even have speakers in the doors! the whole assembly is missing in both doors. i called the previous owner and he said he had an aftermarket stereo installed and threw out the old speakers. Should i even bother putting in the stock speakers or just go ahead and upgrade?

upgrade! I went with JL Audio XR650 components and they are perfect for me. Great speakers and they cost about $200. The tweeters in the door look really cool too!!

so i dont need those assemblys at all? Do i need to make custom box? or would i be better of getting the bose shells and modifiying them for aftermarket components?
Oh yeah, forgot about mounting them. You will need something to hold the speakers to the doors, like this:
