Hello
i have been looking this forum for quite sometime now and decided to officially join today. I purchased a nsx last week and it should arrive in the next two days from her previous residence. Below are some pictures...other than coil overs, after market exhaust and an ARC airbox she is totally stock. As you can see i need some rims and tires and not sure what to go for...as such
1. recommendations would be appreciated.
2. The rims in the following youtube attachment are amazing..does anyone know what make and model these rims are and where i can get them from?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxCUd7hmwGI
3. I would like side skirts...any suggestions other than downforce stacys?
4. I need a front lip
5. Finally i would like a rear valence to look like a 02 model along with adding a rear diffuser.

all help would be much appreciated.
below are some pic of my car..i will add some more pic when she arrives in the next few days.

congrats and welcome..that car looks lowered by alot..what suspension is on it..this will limit your tire size somewhat. The lip was likely removed by the previous owner because it was getting hung up on cigarete buts:wink:

These are actually my preferences and I also have white colour NSX.

Sideskirt - Downforce replica of 2002 NSX.
Front lip - OEM lip if you're planning to lower the car as it is flexible.
Wheels - Dark gunmetal Advan RS or RZ with the offsets to clear BBK of you are planning to get one in the future.

IMHO, the wheels posted in that video are ugly. But it's your call. The wheels are TSW Thruxton. The NSX deserves a better quality wheel IMHO. I believe the previous owner had the shine front lip which looks pretty nice:

You can get the '02+ side skirts and rear diffuser from downforce. They also sell two diffusers. One aggressive, and another much more manageable (ie, less chance of scraping).

Are you keeping the ride height? You can definitely get some aggressive wheels on with that ride height.

here's what i would do,
02+ wheels
02+ rear valence
02+ side skirt
oem front lip
and call it a day, beautiful car you got there

The biggest mistake people make when buying wheels is, they look for wheels they like first, and buy them, only then starting to ask about tires that will fit. That's an easy way to get stuck with wheels you can't use, because they're too wide for your tires, or good tires don't come in the sizes you need (like with the bling bling 18"/19" or larger).

My advice: stick with 215/40-17 front tires and 255/35-18 rear tires for a '94-05 NSX, 265/35-18 tires for a '91-93 NSX. 215/40-17 are usually approved for wheels 7.0-8.5" wide, 255/35-18 for 8.5-10", and 265/35-18 for 9.0-10.5".

Thanks to all for the quick replies...
as far as i know the vehicle is lowered on tein flex coilovers.
whether i will keep it that low or not is something that i am not sure of...i would like to decide on some wheels and tires before i decide how low i would like the vehicle to be.

The BBS LM's are classics and i believe that what the owner had on before parting with the nsx...althought i certainly like that set up i think it maybe just a bit boring for me..i dont want a kid racer look with 5 story tall wings or street scraping body panels..at the same time i dont want a boring look...anyways i am new to this and i am quite excited and cant wait to get my baby and start the work.

any comments on downforce valence VS. Jetz racing valence?

anyone looking to sell side skirts, wheels, valence, diffuser ect...?

I only have experience with downforce. Great Quality. Some mixed reviews on Jetz, but less pricey.

rusted_nails...wow beautiful ride....i am soo anxious waiting for my baby..the truck driver in few words or less basically told me off today cause i keep calling him to find out where in route he is ....can you blame meeee..i been waiting for a long time to get this car..i was kinda debating between an E30 or LSB E46 but at the end i decided to get the only car i can think of under 200G's that stands out like a gem and can be driven as an every day car..i wanted a yellow or white only since these are the two rare color...well other than that imola orange color...anyways i now have two GPW's in the garage..the s2k and the NSX...will post pics as soon as i get them. However as you can see the car is pretty naked and i want to get the things i mentioned in my intoductory post...i however live in a tiny lil town in the middle of nowhere california...so i am not sure who would be able to install these pieces for me..i was think'n of maybe shipping her to downforce so they can do the work but i am not sure if i wanna pay the inflate quote they game me...anyways, how much do you think i would expect to spend on skirts, valence, and lip?

i am still not sure what rims would look good on a GPW...the ones that caught my attention were the TSW thruxton thats on the youtube clip in my original positing..however i am not sure how that would look on a white vehicle.
if anyone knows of parts that are being sold on here please let me know or notify them that i am looking for skirts, lip, valence and diffuser....

ps. my baby will be for show only..not gonna track her or beat her up.

anyone know what brand and model these rims are?
how do you think they would look on GPW?

Those are volks of some sort but I dont know which model exactly. The owner is Nsxlife and he's a local to me. Pm him. As far as price, the lip ran me about 350 from ebay, sides were 950 from DF, and the rear lip was 450 used. I know jetz sells the rear lip at a better price than DF if cost is an issue. Paint was free for me since my dad paints for a living so I dont know what the costs would be for it. Hope that helps

For a white car, I always perferred the white on white look.

I would stay away from wheels that are too complex and convoluted because those wheels tend to be trendy and they will go out of style fast.

Here is Demigod's with a set of wheel spacers to make the wheels sit more flush

I love the color of your car. For the time being though, I'd suggest these quick fixes.
1) Raise it up a little. It looks more like a lowrider or ricer car than a true exotic sports car as it sits now, especially with the rear lower than the front.
2) The factory 16/17" solaris wheels actually look pretty good if you add 25mm spacers in the rear, which will bring the wheel out more flush with the fender. You can really see the problem in this picture:

Get some of these:

This guy has 15mm fronts and 25mm rears:

3) Sideskirts. I'd say go with the 2002+ OEM ones (with replicas made by Downforce or JetzRacing). My absolute favorite are the ones on Hong_NSX's car made by K3000. However, those are a custom, one-off job and NO ONE MAKES THEM :frown:. I have the Wings West and even though I like the look, they are poorly made. I like the direction that the Stacy's sideskirt design goes toward, but I hate the fact that there's a bulging lip where the top of the skirt meets the body of the NSX. It messes up the flow and lines of the car IMO.

4) Rear valance - I have the Downforce OEM replica and quality and fitment are top notch.

5) Front lips - if you plan to keep it as low as this, I'd recommend the factory lip. Being that low, a fiberglass or Carbon fiber lip will probably end up getting cracked, so I'd advise against those. I have the Wings West and it scraps on most driveways, but it's urethane. Quality of the Wings West lip is ok (slightly better than the sideskirts), but it only took a week after having it painted that it got messed up coming out of 1 driveway .
