Well guys, as a few of you know, I have sold my beloved 91 Black/Ivory with 32k miles. This car has been amazing to say the least. It was my only car for the last three years. It's sad to see it go. I bought it 3/14 1999. Amazingly, I am signing the papers at my dealership for my new 2001 Spa Yellow Pearl NSX-T on 3/14 2002 as I leave for vacation on the 15th.

Both cars are scheduled to be picked up by exotic car transport companies next week. My 91 will be brought to Arizona down the street from Mark Basch and my 01 is coming down from N.J. I will actually be away on a cruise when my new car gets delivered!!! My girlfriend's father will be housesitting my house and will be there to receive the car and take pics and video. (I'll post 'em when I get 'em) This is going to kill me, being away while it gets delivered. I sure hope that I'm not feeling like I can't wait to get home from the cruise to see my new car because I sooooooooo need this cruise to get away and RELAX. The cruise was set up and purchased a year ago and have been looking forward to it very much. I'd hate to think that I might want it to be over so I can go home, but how can I not feel this way a little?

Well thanks for letting me tell my new NSX story as I am very sad and very excited all in one emotion. 91 to 01 exactly 3 years later. Stay tuned for a killer deal on this car when the repo guy starts calling me.

congrats on the upgrade! sounds like life is all good at the moment. enjoy your vacation and try not to let the excitement affect your relaxation. the great thing about it is you have something to look forward to after your vacation. that must be a unique and good feeling!

All I would be thinking of is my new NSX at Home it would drive me nuts if I was on Vacation when it was delivered Congrats anyway.

If it were me, I would not go. I would want to be there to make sure the car was not damaged in transport.

Congratulations on the new car! Yellow is stunning.

I'm sure you'll have fun on vacation. And instead of the occasional downer when you return, you'll have a great new car waiting for you!

Do you honestly think good company; food and all that comes with a cruise will lesson your obsession with the X (especially a new one)?

You are a braver man than I.

Have fun!

You seem to like to buy your car on my birthday. Another fact no one would care

If you were me, it'd be the best birthday ever!

After my '94, my new car felt great. The combination of different chassis, engine, tranny, interior, etc,... should keep you happy with that "new car feeling" for over a year. Mine did!

Many Congrats. on the new founded purchase! Just make sure the in-law does not decide to take it out for a "Delivery Inspection" drive before you do! That would cause me to end all ties with that family immediately.

If it were me, new NSX first, cruise second, but thats just me...

Where is your cruise going to? This sounds very familiar. When I bought my first NSX I went on a cruise. I went to Florida and then on a Carnival cruise. Florida was very nice. I went to Puerto Rico, St.Thomas and St. Croix. I know you will enjoy your trip, I did. They have lots of things for you to do, exspecially once you get off the boat. Hope you have fun, and yes once the cruise was over I was anxious to get home.

We go on a cruise once a year. Last year was Old San Juan, St. Thomas, St. John, St. Maarten, Nassau and back home to Ft. Lauderdale in 7 days on Celebrity. This year we are going to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Curacao, Aruba and Ocho Rios in 10 days on Royal Carribean. I am so ready for this one. I hope it is as great as last year because that one was fantastic. We also went on a Carnival cruise to Cozumel a couple years ago and that was just no comparison to Celebrity. Much younger crowd on Carnival, not as elegant and the boat was not very nice in comparison. I don't think I would ever go back to Carnival. As pixelhaus and Lud said, it's a unique feeling to actually be able to have something to look forward to after I get home. It's a definite cure for that sucky reality feeling when I get off the boat and realize the cruise is over and know that I have to go back to work in less than 24 hrs. Thanks for the wishes.

I am the luck new owner of NSXotic's 1991 NSX. I am counting the days and holding my breath until it arrives. As this is the first NSX I've owned, I will need a lot of advise and guidance from you all in caring for my new love. I look forward to chating with many of you.

As noted, I work 1/2 mile from Mark Basch which is very exciting as he is already working on talking me into a supercharger. Don't know if I'm ready for this yet...

1st post and 8 days from delivery... stay tuned...

Scott,

Glad you decided to purchase Todd's 1991 NSX...it really is in exceptional condition, inside and out. It drove very well when I took it out last week.

Keep in touch, and let us know what you think of it when you take delivery!

Todd, congratulations on the new purchase! I'm sure you will love it every bit as much as the black beauty.

After previously owning only cars that are red or darker colors, a year ago on ak's birthday (!) I too bought a yellow car. As I expected, it hides dirt quite well. There were two additional characteristics that I did not anticipate. It attracts insects more (what they say about objects that are colored like flowers is true). And, when applying a coat of wax, it's much more difficult to see exactly where you've coated the surface.

Todd - have a great time on your cruise, too!

Second that about the bugs. It was warmer the other day and when I came out to my car, I swear, there was a swarm of gnats flying around it.

I went from black to yellow also. It is much easier to keep clean and looks much better in most bright lighting situations because it is hard to see any imperfections (swirlmarks, chips, etc). I do love the black though. It just looks so sleek and low. You definitely get more looks in the yellow, too. Everyone thinks its a Ferrari.

Just remember to wear the bugspray when you take the top off.
