After spending a day with Larry at NSX Modified this last Saturday, not only is my tune up done, but my new red engine is complete. All red and chrome and it looks GREAT! We took pictures and I have them, but I don't currently have a site to link to to display the image here. I want to post these pics for Larry and the shop so everyone can see what a great job he did. Can someone help? I'll email you the pics if you can help me post them here.

Anyway, I had a great time last weekend. Thanks to Larry for hooking me up with the sweetest red engine covers and hoses I've seen and for doing an awesome job with my car. Another thanks to Jesse and Ruben for helping out with my car as well.
The BIGGEST Thanks go out to Ruben for not scratching my car after I used his PIMP shirt to buff my chrome parts. He shouldn't have thrown it in the basket with all the dirty rags. :0
Anyway, Larry did a kick__s job and I want to thank him and the shop. I'll be back for those headers in a few weeks.

If you're a member of the NSX Club, I'm sure other club members would be interested in checking it out at this Friday evening's meeting.

I know there is a meeting this coming Thursday night at NSX Modified. Which NSX Club meeting are you referring to?
I am going to try and make the meeting this Thursday. I probably won't go if it's raining because the traffic is bad enough down the 405 when it isn't.

This is the same meeting you are referring to, at Team NSX (NSX Modified); however, the meeting has been changed to FRIDAY at 6:30 to accommodate a visitor from out of town.

I just did that with freepichosting.
Here are the pics. Let's see how this works.

Since the meeting is on Friday, there's a better chance of me being there. It looks a lot better in person... bright red and polished chrome.
Who's the out of town visitor? I'm interested... or is it a secret.

freepichosting sucks. I should have used photopoint like David said. I finally got the arguments right and their site won't allow the link. lame.

FINALLY!! It's about time. I knew I got it right the second time. It must have been that other site FREEPICHOSTING that had some access issues.

Who's the out of town visitor? I'm interested... or is it a secret.

Jacqueline Berthiaume, who represents the Northwest Region (includes northern California) on the board of directors of the NSX Club of America.

Hey Ilya, I'm debating whether or not to go to this meeting. I'm in the middle of horrible deadlines, but the fact this one is on Friday is tempting. Weather will be obviously be a factor...but if I do decide to make the trek, we should hook up for the drive down.

That sounds cool to me. I don't know where Naughty Dog is located in LA. Are you in the Marina area? I work in Westwood.
If it's raining, I'm not sure how the meeting will take place. I can just imagine 30 NSXs sitting outside in the rain. What a terrible sight. ;0
Do you still plan to go if it's raining hard?
send me an email and I'll get you my number. We'll figure it out and see who else is coming from down here.

Oh... I saw your ode to Hard Drivin on your site.
I used to love that game! I had completely forgotten about that until I saw it again on your site.

Akira3d,
Are you still planning on going down to the meeting this Friday. I wasn't going to go because rain was predicted, but they pushed the rain back to Saturday now so I'm on.

I just saw some old post while searching for some body kit info and noticed you went to SC Film School from another post. I swear I must have missed you by just a few years. I started out majoring in Computer Science, but I took so many film classes I could have minored in it because it was so much fun. nice coincidence. fight on.

The combination of rain, Friday rush hour traffic to O.C., AND my insane deadline work schedule will prevent me from making the trek this month. In thinking about it, I'm guessing that I won't be going to another meeting until after E3 (June).

Fight on! What years were you at 'SC? I originally thought about minoring in computer science, but smartly realized that film production would be all-consuming before I even started.

Oh well. I'll be going down as long as it doesn't rain. It isn't supposed to anymore. I hope there's a decent turnout.
I went to SC from 95-99. I know you remember Casper.

My first year was the year SC won the Rose Bowl and beat Northwestern.
Hey, maybe I'll see you at E3. Probably not because it's so packed. Last year was the first time I went and I had a blast.
I'm sure you get VIP passes to see the real good stuff though. My three loves: cars, games, and audio.
My roommate used to be a CG artist for films and she worked 14 hour days and weekends.

How can anyone NOT remember Drew? His passion for film is unrivaled!

Funny how we remember our first year by what our football team did. My first year was highlighted by the dramatic 1990 shootout between UCLA and USC...the one that ended with fellow South High School alumnus Johnnie Morton making a diving game-winning endzone catch in the last 16 seconds! It doesn't get better than that!

We probably will bump into each other at E3. I'm amazed how many people I run into at the show and after-show parties.

As for VIP passes, being a competitive developer means we DO NOT get to see the good stuff. Developers often don't want their competitors to see what they are working on...for fear that their technology might be copied and then beat to market.

Audio too? Are you also a musician? Or are you referring to your awesome car stereo system

Only 14 hour days?

I remember that game from back in high school. Was that when Todd Marinovich was QB? I remember the picture in the paper.
He was on the ground and a ucla player stretched out his hand to help him up. Todd just flicked him off while sitting there on his as_ with a grin on his face. I still have that cutout somewhere from the paper. hilarious. was that the game or am I thinking of a different year?

I'm going to try and get passes again to E3. I know someone that was in one of those quake tournament groups and he got us all passes last year.

Actually, no, I'm more into hi-fi at home.
Car Audio can only sound so good... although really good. There just isn't the acoustic space for it in a car.
I'm still learning about car audio... relatively inexperienced. As for my home system, I just sold my current setup (about 10k) and am currently working on an even bigger and badder one. I'm the same way with audio as some guys are with car mods. I'm more of an audiophile, although I love to terrorize the neighbors and peel paint off the wall with The Matrix on occasion.
I know how to use a mixing board, but that's as far as my musical talents go. more of a love... no talent.

I hope they don't work you too hard there. You won't time to drive the car?

I'll bet that was the game. Marinovich to Morton...I believe the final score was 45 to 42. I was sitting in the USC student section of the Rose Bowl (aka the end zone) at the OPPOSITE end of the field when it happened. It was mass hysteria when we realized we had won. And we knew as soon as the blue-and-yellow stopped waving along the sidelines. I have clippings from the L.A. Times and the Daily Trojan somewhere.

If you can't get a pass to E3, I might be able to help you out. But try other options first, I can't guarantee anything.

As for home audio, I too am guilty of crankin' up my home THX / Dolby Digital 5.1 system to the Matrix DVD from time to time.

I hope they don't work you too hard there. You won't time to drive the car?

I've put less than 7,500 miles on my NSX in one year...I think they are working me too hard.
