Finally finished all the Hats & Mounting Brackets.
Brembo Monobloc 8 Piston Calipers & Brembo 330mm x 28mm Rotors. Worked out 18 Pounds lighter than the OEM Brakes.
Only needed a 10mm Spacer with Simmons Wheels(17x8) Offset??
I have another set if anyone is interested.

 That looks like a true overkill! I have only 4 piston Brembos and these are already able to brake like hell (with race slicks, street tires are clearly the weakest point with such brakes).

You may have just won the largest front racing caliper on a street nsx ever award!I don't know what the prize is,but if you choose pads correctly you may be able to flat spot your tires at will!I would be curious as well about your choice of components, did you use stock master cylinder, and what is on the rear?Let us know!

Yes, total overkill since i have no plan to Track my car. The Rear is next on the list with 330mm x 26mm Rotors & Brembo 4 piston calipers. Although I have another smaller set of 8 piston Brembos. The rest of the Braking system is OEM & seems to work fine.

My brother has a custom Brembo Indy setup on his NSX w/ additional options like titanium pistons, custom CNC studded brackets, less dustboots, etc. I think he has something like $10,000 in the package. I remember Brembo claimed their Indy package for the NSX was the only setup per any streetcar application built that they were able to achieve 100% bias both front and rear using the same caliper without using proportioning valves. In other words, it's perfectly balanced. Your setup looks cool with the big 8 pot monoblock calipers (most likely same sweep area as the Indy caliper). How much coin for the setup here? Trick setup my friend!

Hey whrdnsx,

sorry to be off topic...................but I just flew from So Cal to Lansing, MI to buy a retired Michigan State Police car (I liked the color). Drove it back from Lansing the whole way to North Hollywood....It's funny how people move out of your way when you have spotlights and a big push guard. Anyway, got it from Pennsylvania Auto Sales @ 2117 S. Cedar street.

Can you tell me why they drilled 8 or so holes in the hood? Can not seem to determine what the heck they would have mounted on the hood of that car at one point. Thanks

I saw your post and thought I would chime in since I have lived in Michigan all my life (sad, but true). The holes you speak of are from a clear plastic sign that says:

police STOP police

This sign can can only be viewed when you are perpendicular to the car. It seems to be a throw-back to yesteryear. It is the same thing with the big cherry top light on the roof. They haven't changed that in 30+ years. Meanwhile, everyone else is going to LED lightbars which are way more visible. Hope this helps.

Al

The Indy calipers were used by Comptech in their Powertec kit.

The calipers use the same sized pistons front and rear generating the same amounting of clamping force on both axles. They definitely require a proportioning valve or some other method to balance braking force (speaking from experience as this is the kit I own).

BTW, congrats on the custom monoblock setup.

I am certain no proportioning valve was used on my brother's car.....
