Her sleek lines
her beguiling eyes
They set the hook, she reels me in
She has new shoes
black, like the hair she wears,
Her wanting look, it beckons
come closer, come close, take my hands,
grasp them light, steer me yonder,
the music, it surges to life,
I cannot resist, an unknown spirit,
She is a promise of wild adventure,
I take her hands and we start the dance
she makes a purr of delight,
she whispers, take me there,
We start out slow, a turn here, a glide there
She is impatient, she whispers: lets go faster
we pick up the pace,
soon, the others fall out of the race,
It's just us, she and I
her scream of delight, primal, in full cry,
makes my heart pound, my mouth is dry.
In reckless abandon, we spin even faster,
We are a blur now, she and I
We go so fast, the connection complete,
we meld into one soul, like this, I should die
The turns they go faster, so much more faster,
I grip her hands tighter, as my feet start feeling lighter,
I fear I will definitely falter,
The one little misstep, just as I fear
I stumble, she slips,
My eyes wide in fear, I have let her down
The best parter I have had,
I try to save my lady, alas, my shame is utter
My NSX, my first automotive love, Picture Kim Basinger in red sheet metal with the soul of Xena, Warrior princess. I salute her.
I shake my head. Woo hoooo.. The car is now facing oncoming traffic,
middlefield and central, my heart pounding, arms wrestling the manual steering into submission, I do the 270 degree turn and get out of the way. Damn I need to be more careful. Note to myself to check shocks and tires.
------------------------------------------------------
Jobless at work, while a huge program was building, I penned this down. Meant to do it right after I decided not to sell the NSX. But today, inspiration struck. You will need to ignore and forgive the lack of rhyming. The sentiment will hopefully provide extenuation circumstance.
This spin happened a few months after I got the NSX. Since then I have been much more careful and other than some audible friction , the experience has been idiotproof.
Any more NSX inspired poetry (or what passes for it) ??
