heres what i get to cruise in every day... may not look like much but this thing takes an insane amount of beatings and keeps on going.

1988 honda prelude 2.0si
half-gutted interior, gladman short throw shifter, 2.5" header-back exhaust with a magnaflow muffler, front/rear strut bars, MSD SCI/SS Blaster ignition, 300zx hood scoop to a custom air intake, bored throttle body, mazda 626 digital instrument cluster. all custom work done by me with my dremel :p

indeed. I got kind of worried the last two times i crashed it though. First was sliding straight into a ditch doing around 60kph just missing a sign post. Second was having to take an exit off the trans canada for "certain reasons", slowing down to around 120 and the brakes locked up sending me into some raised concrete. I'd say scariest moment was oversteering a corner and sliding sideways then having it snap back barely clearing a telephone pole by a foot.

the car only left me stranded once.. clutch slave cylinder was on its way out and i was having to bleed it every time i wanted to drive. The thing went for good halfway home one day and I had to have it towed.

I've always thought of those Accords as a "poor mans NSX" (no offense meant), not from performance but just the looks from the front -- it appears like an NSX with all the edges squared off.... and 10inch higher. ;)

...but anything that looks like an NSX is GOOD thing. :) Great car.

Mike, you mean Prelude? It looks like 80's gen. Prelude, and I believe even mentioned by owner! I do agree in that particular gen. of Prelude, there were many general similarities to the NSX: pop-up headlights, 3spoke beefy steering wheel, lay-out of interior, angled center-console, dash & driver's console, rear tail-lights that continue from side-to-side.

A major difference is that there have been 2.5 redesigned Prelude models since then whereas the NSX remained original, lol!

{The 87-90 Accord coupe/sedan also had flip-up lights, the 94-97 Accord coupe/sedan had angled center-console, and the 98-02 Accord coupe had rear tail-lights that continue from side to side... all traits similar on the NSX}

I had an '86 Prelude for several years. It was a great car, took me many places.

As for the 'poor mans NSX', I always considered that title to belong to the 2nd gen MR2 (I had a '91). It was in so many ways a 2/3 scale NSX. I loved that little car.
