Hey Guys,

This is my 1/8 Senna McLaren MP4/4 model I just completed. The model is made by Kyosho and sold through DeAgostini (you may have seen tv commercials for it during the F1 race telecasts). The model is a subscription, which means you get parts for the model over a period of 20 months but I was able to procure all the parts in 14 months from them. I poured over 500+ pictures of the real car and added quite a few extra details on my own to replicate as much as possible.

If you want to see my build diary, it is here on DeAgostini's forum:

Short vid if you want to see the blinking LED light I added:

Damn! Mind if I drive it? It looks real!

Thanks for the kind words. After starting this project, I really have the model building bug now. Next project on my bench is a 1/8 Prost/Alesi Ferrari 643 --- I have some cool details in store for it as well, here's a sneak preview of the brakes alone, about 97 individual parts:

Question, I looked into the MP4 model for the 20 month thing. Do the parts require paint? I see you did a ton more detail but just curious if the parts need paint?

wow my fingers would be super-glued together after day 1:eek:

If Jim does'nt mind my chiming in, if you read the build thread you notice Jim added alot of his own personal touches to make the car nearly 100% authentic. Details, details.

Astonishing level of detalization! Saw your build thread - really cool, man.
I simply don't have this level of patience and self-control

Thanks for all the kind words.

Every time I look at pics of the real thing, I find more detail I can add. I just received some Aeroquip fittings in scale from Germany that I will be adding. I will post more pics when I am done.
