I've been looking for NSX Modified for awhile when I stumbled upon a shop in Orange County called Auto Wave. I know there are a lot of other people looking for NSX Modified's shop as well. Apparently they are out of business. I wanted to let you know that Auto Wave is amazing. They are Honda/Acura specialtists and Shane really knows his way around an NSX. He's tight with the guys at Comptech as well. I've been taking my car to him for a few months and he is very competent and a straight shooter. I had them prep my car for a trip to Willow Springs this past weekend. I will also be using them to install some mods in the future. If anyone is looking for a killer NSX mechanic in OC Auto Wave's number is (714) 841-3075.

Fatlip,

I bought a '91 NSX with 45k miles. It was in pristine shape, but I was concerned about the age of my components, especially belts hoses and anything plastic or rubber. I had Shaine do the 60k service including timing belt, adjust valves and replace all hoses. I had a few minor oil leaks, so I had the seals fixed and gaskets replaced. They pulled the motor to make it easier to get all of this done. I'm very happy with their work. I plan on driving the car fairly hard at the track and I told him I wanted it in excellent condition. His prices are very fair and much cheaper than the dealer. I am very anal about my vehicles and they appear to be supremely competent. They currently have a new NSX in there that they are doing major work on. The owner was beat by a Viper and told them to do whatever was neccessary to have this never happen again. They are installing a Comptech supercharger, Comptech suspension, big brake kit and a few more things.

I'm debating my next mod, but I will definately have them install it. I'm debating either the Comptech suspension or the Copmtech header and exhaust.

I had my clutch and some other little things done to my car at AUTOWAVE.Everything came out great. Car was done when promised, left my car there with confidence and ease of mind.Shane is a professional.I will use AUTOWAVE again.Good job Shane!

his prices are up there. quoted me only 20 bucks less than the dealer wanted to install a clutch. maybe its just me, but i'd rather have a multi-million dollar company back up the work done on my car.

Customer Service, Skilled Workmanship, and your not another number. Autowave continues to take care of me and at 120 k the car has never ran better!!!

Supergreen,

I wouldn't be concerned with saving $50 bucks. What you don't get to do at your multi million dollar dealer is what you should be concerned about. I doubt your dealer has a Dyno and I bet he isn't concerned with performance as much as they are. I doubt your dealer will let you under your car everytime you take it in. Shaine let's you into the service-bay area and shows you what he's doing to your car under it and in it. No B.S. They don't do anything that's not needed and if you're loyal to them, they will hook you up with an occasional freebie. I just installed Brembo rotors, pads and stainless brake lines. They threw in a few free things as well. They are probably more experienced with your NSX than your multi million dollar dealer. When I picked up my NSX on Friday, they had 4 NSX's up in the air. 3 were supercharged, Brembo'd, exhausted etc. They are currently maintaining Doug's race NSX from Pulp Racing. I used to take my NSX to the dealer for the same reason you are, however, I'm more interested in Auto Wave's passion and knowledge for the NSX as well as their personal attention. By the way, saving $50 isn't too bad as well.
Regards

Ryneen- mine would of been the black one up in the far rack with the SSR's & the motor pulled. Hope to get it back in a week or so.
If you read on the pulp racing site, they had a long night last weekend with Doug H's car....:)

Anyone had their valve adjusted with them? From what I understand, AutoWave has been mentioned only after NSX Modified went out of business or bit earlier. Sp I'm not sure if they have enough experience with NSX.

Jay- I would recommend them right now. My car is still there, the whole motor torn down, hopefully next week I'm back.

A handful of NSX's I believe went to Autowave before, however alot were so caught up in the NSx Modified thing...call Shane and let him know I (Leonard) referred you.

Jay,

I've had a fair amount of work done to my NSX including a valve adjustment job. Shaine is very competent inside and outside the motor. I was originally looking for NSX Modified when I stumbled upon AutoWave. I'm very glad NSX Mod was closed before I found them. I've recently seen a few cars that came from NSX Mortified... I don't want to say anything too negative, but I would have killed someone if my car came back from a shop with workmanship like theirs. I can't speak from experience, but apparently there is a clear reason why NSX Mortified is out of business.

I would suggest you visit Auto Wave and speak to Shaine. Don't take my word. If you don't like what you see and hear don't use them. However, I'm very happy with their service and expertise.

Thanks guys, I will check them out. I called while back to get some estimate but whoever answered the phone was not too friendly. Maybe I should to talk to Shane directly.

Wad- sorry about the late reply been away from the net for a while.

Everyone- I am putting another GREAT word in for autowave for top rate professional service in our area. I had a MAJOR job done on my car, which included the heads, timing belt, water pump and a couple other things. The job did good along with alot of other little things that made my experience a better one. I was able to look at my motor when pulled out of the car, also I was given updates by Shane and other staff members on the status of the job, when I could pick it up, what parts were left to put in on the car, if I lived closer I would check it out more often while being put back together.

I picked up the car a few weeks ago and have only put a few hundred miles but the car feels great and brand new. For those that have not seen my engine there are all kinds of lines rerouted all over the place due to the nitrous system and they didnt have any problem with this at all.

They even polished up alot of the shiny stuff in the engine bay, and polished my exhaust tips which I loved.

I really meant to put this message out a while ago- Shane and Autowave have my best word, I will defintely be back for my next service before summer.
