Hey Guys,
There is a good chance that I will be moving to region with work (fingers crossed) and would love any insight on where I should be looking to live. I am trying to stay between Ft. Lauderdale and Central Miami. Also, if any of you are renting a house, let me know because we might start there and buy later. Just curious about places of interest and places to avoid. Any thoughts would be useful.

Are there a lot of NSX owners in South Florida? I hope to start coming to the local cars and coffee events if I move. NSXcapades looks awesome, but I don't think I'll make it down there in time .

I hope to get a chance to come down there and meet some more people from the NSX community!!

Thanks,
Jay

there are tons of members in Florida.

Oscar_Driver is one off the top of my head

Im in tampa not to far from miami.

ask Oscar he lives down there and I am sure he can tell you were to go, live, eat, sleep, poop, LOL

Congrats on the relocation to S. Florida. I live in Delray which is 60 miles north of Miami. Where are going to be working? What are your requirements for housing: Condo or house? There are great opportunities for buying right now, but you definitely need to know where you want to be before doing so.

Good luck and welcome to S. Florida.

Shawn,
I will be making the trip to come see your "NSX ICU" you've got in your front yard once I move.

DocL,
Although the move isn't final yet, I do want to do my homework if it does become final so I agree with you there. We definitely need at least a 2 car garage so no condo/townhome. Single family homes are what we are currently looking at. I should find out more "where" I will be working physically after today, but all I know now is that its in Miami. My wife will be working for the Hurricane Research Division on Key Biscayne, but we would rather live outside of the city itself. We have found some nice homes in Weston, but not sure about the commute. Will know more soon.

Thanks for the replies! Can't wait to get out of this cold weather!! It was 38 driving to work today!!!

Weston is at least a 1-1.5hr commute to Miami in rush hour without any crashes. If you are going to be in the greater Miami area, Coral Gables is nice area, and Kendall has a few good spots to live. A lot of townhomes here have two car garages so don't rule those out.

Today's commute was a cool 78 degrees for me. :D

Come to Fort Lauderdale, there's a good place to be, which is in the middle of CRAZY Miami and Boring Palm Beaches, is just ideal for young "but not that young" people, also there's always TONS of car events to join between Miami and PB, always stuff, almost every weekend, not many NSX related activities lately, yet, again, TONS of stuff to do if you ask me :)

Good luck!

Oscar

Well, that changes a lot, but still there's options between Ft. Lauderdale , Miami, Weston is nice, but a bit far west .. I love Hollywood and is not that far from Miami, lots of cute houses and the beach, of course :)

Oscar

Having spent some time in miami I would second the hollywood area for a home.

I just moved to the Hollywood area, Pembroke Pines in fact. I would buy a house here, or in Weston, and many other places in Hollywood. From what I've seen so far, great place to live.

Thanks to everyone for your replies! Hopefully, I will be able to get this ball rolling soon.
Another question...Florida is a 2 license plate state right?:frown:
Also, can us 91 guys register the NSXs as historic or Street Rod to avoid emissions? Either way, I can't wait to get down there!

1 plate and we don't have emissions inspections. Good Luck!
