I've been experiencing some loud resonance through the cabin of my '92 lately when decelerating . I suspect a motor/tranny mount issue. I've attached a picture of the tranny mount ( located below the air induction box). Does this look right ? It seems as though the rubber is located pretty far away from the center of the mount. It feels piable and i don't see any obvious cracks. Is this the way the rubber is supposed to be?

Those pieces on the side only function to prevent the mount from hitting the chassis if the mount fails (the rubber on the inside of the mount cracks). They do not sit flush on the mount, yours look normal. However, if you're getting a bit of vibration, I would inspect the actual inside of this mount, as well as the front and rear mounts, which absorb the most of the engine torque. If you're finding you need to replace any, we offer a more cost effective and higher performance solution here:
