Sorry, I wasn't able to reply to you sooner.
Yes I did go. I was doing some test&tune with my Formula Renault. About 20-25 cars showed up - mostly Ferraris and Porsches. A guy with a new 430 spider showed up. Another guy even brought a 1997 F1 Lola racecar and a prototype Dallara sports racer with a F1 Ferrari motor in it. He drove the Dallara with the rest of us on the track - how sweet that thing sounded when it went past you. However, when it came time for him to play with his F1 Lola, we all had to get off and he had the track all to himself for about a half hour. Unfortunately, it sounded as if something with the engine was amiss -it was sputtering profusely and it eventually died on the backstraight only after a few warm laps and had to be towed in. That was the end of the F1 show. Aside from this, the event went w/o any incidents - no one even put a wheel off the track all day long. Everyone was very well-behavied and courteous on the track. The food was delicious and plentiful and there was even more for those that stayed for the after-hour festivites. Too bad you didn't show up - you would have certainly enjoyed yourself. Well, there is always next year.
