Just watching SPEED now .. Montoya's moving to NASCAR driving for Chip Ganassi racing from McLaren F1 team!!:eek::eek:

lol. hopefully the money is worth all the left hand turns.

its such a hick sport. Nascar would get laughed out of every other country in the world. Even the Canadians have the sense to stay away from Nascar.

Re: If one were cynical,

they might say "So much for his true racing spirit." The obvious answer is he's just following the $$ and was simply out of any more good rides in F-1. I can understand that he didn't want to join the many others who had been to the top and were then relegated to the midpack or worse.

I have my doubts that he can set NASCAR on their ear, but it's all about the show and controversy. $hit sells and this is hot !!

Amen. Just adding another clown to the circus show.

Re: If one were cynical,

Am i right that he's famous for aggessive driving and crashing cars?? For some reason I'm not surprised at all. Didn't he and J.Gordon traded seats couple years ago (even it was a demonstration/PR thing)?

Montoya got skill for sure, but his aggressive driving really had no place for F1. Somehow I think that he will be successful in Nascar or even DTM, race series that allowed some sort of rubbing body parts.

Re: If one were cynical,

Rubbin's Racin'!

Sorry, had to say it just once. :)

I would love it for him to come into NASCAR and put major heat on Tony Stuart and the like. Speaking of turning the wheel to the right and left did anyone see the Crown Royal TA race last weekend? Max Pappis and Tony Stuart were duking it out for 1st place. Tony Stuart's a good driver, too bad he's only famous from NASCAR. I think he won a 24hour Rolex race or Le Mans a few years ago.

Back on track, I'm looking forward to seeing how this decision progresses.

Looks like Montoya is out of McLaren this year, being replaced by de La Rosa.
Interesting twist in the Montoya saga ..

Good to see Montoya being kicked in the a**
Plot twist: He'll probably get his ass kicked by Dale Jr. when he's seen in public with Danica hanging on him like another gold chain !!! Then, like the desparate housewife that she is, Danica will be labeled "damaged merchandise." That ought to keep the southern white girls heavily conflicted.

Re: Robin Miller said it

last nite on Wind Tunnel. JPM won't last in NASCAR past August next year. The schedule, venues, lifestyle and food will drive him back to open wheel; either Champ Car or Earl (IRL).

Probably right; the thrill, novelty and newsworthiness will have worn off of everyone by then and the day to day grind will takes its toll on him. Where will he go? He's about out of options; if he needs $$$, he'll try Earl, if not, he'll go back to Champ Car or, possibly try ALMS?

Anyone up for a pool on Miller's prediction?
