I saw a Lotus Europa Twin Cam that someone did the same thing too. The cams decided that they were getting out of Dodge at a little over12,000RPM. They blew the cam cover and the engine cover right off the car. VERY expensive!!! The dealer thought it was funny as the owner had been bragging about his driving a bit too much.

Ouch seems to be a popular failure. I have seen a number of pictures like this.
what gets me is the pic of the 25 MPH speed limit in the background of the pic where they just pulled over. I cant believe anyone would be redlining in 5th on a residential road.
