Guys, I'm new here so take it easy on me. Looking to buy a 95-01 Monaco Blue. These pics here are killing me...

I know this colour was not offered in Canada (correct me if I'm wrong), and I could only find one for sale in US (CA) but not getting a response from the seller.

So here's a totally stupid noob question, what if I buy an NSX locally and get a paint job? ... Has anyone got a totally new paint job done, how much will it cost? and how would the quality be? Importing from US seems to be costly anyways.

Any advice would be appreciated...
Ray.

Yes Monaco Blue is a very rare colour.

Based on where you are located, the quality of a paint job and price will vary by a large margin. My guess in the GTA for a top notch job on an NSX will be around $15-20k. That would be for a total strip down and repainting.

Good luck.

Bram

Why can't you get a response from the seller which is a used car dealer in Bellevue, wa? That blue nsx might be a consignment car.

This is the one I'm trying to contact... blue
His PM inbox is full. I sent a message to his email but no response.

On another note, there's a yellow 97 NSX for sale in Montreal. But the guy says the plastic parts (bumper, etc) have faded to a lighter yellow than the rest of the car. How's that possible?

Previous accident. I think the car has been discussed in a very recent thread.

ok thanks guys. I'm gonna contact our local NSX guru here in Ottawa, see what I can find out. Will update..
...and who might that be?

Monaco Blue Pearl was only available from 2000-2001. It is a lighter blue.
Monte Carlo Blue Pearl was offered from 1997-1999. It is a darker blue. (the first car you linked in your original thread is MCBP)

Both are very hard to come by. Either one of these blues in a pre-face lift are what I want for the perfect NSX to me. 1 of the 2 blue coupes would be the dream but there is a good chance those 2 will never see the marketplace.

If you check the production numbers (US based numbers only), you have the following to choose from:

MCBP - 64 total:
1997
1 Fixed Roof Coupe - Black Interior - Manual
15 Targa Top - Black Interior - Manual
3 Targa Top - Black Interior - Automatic
10 Targa Top - Camel Interior - Manual
2 Targa Top - Camel Interior - Automatic

1998
5 Targa Top - Black Interior - Manual
1 Targa Top - Black Interior - Automatic
18 Targa Top - Camel Interior - Manual
2 Targa Top - Camel Interior - Automatic

1999
8 Targa Top - Black Interior - Manual
2 Targa Top - Camel Interior - Manual

MBP - 44 total:
2000
1 Fixed Roof Coupe - Black Interior - Manual
20 Targa Top - Black Interior - Manual
11 Targa Top - Camel Interior - Manual
4 Targa Top - Camel Interior - Automatic

2001
3 Targa Top - Black Interior - Manual
4 Targa Top - Camel Interior - Manual
1 Targa Top - Camel Interior - Automatic

Monaco Blue Pearl is a purple-ish blue.

You might also consider Long Beach Blue Pearl, which was available 2002-2005. It is a lighter, brighter blue than the Monte Carlo Blue Pearl, but does not have the purple tone of the Monaco Blue.

The link in your original post is a 1999 which makes it the darker Monte Carlo Blue. Monaco is a bit lighter and has a purple tint in bright sunlight.

Be patient with NSXNR6, he's a great guy and was very responsive when I was interested in his car.
