I just had my steering wheel installed & my mechanic after install said the horn was not working. He thinks the horn button is bad is this the case or does anyone with this issue have any suggestions before I order a new one .

Check to see if your Cruise control works, I mean drive the car 30mph, and set the cruise if it doesnt work the SRS cable reel also know as clock Spring is bad, I did the same thing, put a new steering wheel on and the cruise control and horn and SRS light was on, but the first sign for a bad reel is the horn.. you have to be real careful when putting on a new Wheel on its so sensitive. a new one from the dealer was around 180 and the part number same for all years is 77900-SLO-A81, trust me it the cable reel. also know as clock spring

Since you put on an after market Wheel the SRS will stay on,

ALSO if the Mechanic put it on then HE F-cked up the reel, if you yank to hard to get the wheel off Like I did cuz it has never been removed from the factory then he probably Yanked the cable reel/clockspring I did it to mine

First off , which hub are you using?

i think shawn is right. if the srs light stays on, the horn doesn't work and the cruise doesn't work, it's the cable reel/clock spring. i just ruined mine when i changed to a new perforated oem wheel. i didn't match up the alignment mark and yellow gear tooth on the left side of the steering column and stretched the reel, ruining it. the number is correct but the cheapest price i could find was $241. the retail is $356.
it's a pretty simple fix.
open this and go to page 23-344. it shows how to replace it.
