I have seen a wankel (rotary) engine DeLorean, it was pretty cool, that almost squeeling noise of the rotary + the performance made the car much more complete imo :smile:
It definitely is not. It's called D Rex, and it was built by some crazy guy who loves the cars. He's also building a convertible DeLorean and a Grand National-powered turbo DeLorean, among others. Look at his website:
I can also confirm it's for real. I saw it (or another replica) at the Volo auto museum in Volo, IL this last Monday. Very cartoonish looking. Great thing (I think?) about the car hobby, there's room for all kinds.
Argghhh, there is an old lady who lives in Ajo, AZ that PAINTED her Delorean maroon because she thought the brushed steel was ugly... all origibal otherwise with under 20k miles!
