Hi everyone - I apologize if this is inappropriate, if it is mods please feel free to delete.

I'm posting here because a Canadian NSXprime member mentioned the site to me while discussing the detailing of his NSX. He mentioned that there is a need for detailing amongst the Canadian NSX community, so I thought I'd post. I'm a mobile detailer who serves the GTA daily and Niagara region (and everywhere in between) bi-weekly. I don't want to link my homepage for fear of being a "tacky self-promoter", but it's in my profile. I'll let my work speak for itself.

Of course now that I've found the site I'll be happy to contribute it any way I can. I thoroughly enjoy talking shop so if you have any detailing questions please let me know!

Cheers,

Kevin

I'd love to hear feedback from references who were happy with your work. What products do you use, what buffer do you use, and how much experience do you have?

Definitely sounds interesting to me -- I was going to do a zaino on it in the coming month, but would love to have it properly polished and swirls removed first.

Like I mentioned I have one potential customer from the board. If he is happy with my work I will encourage him to post his comments. :)

If you don't mind venturing onto a competitors site you can check out some kind feedback from customers here:

and here:

http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1122440#post1122440 (that's a long thread, so it's a little confusing. I'll also bring it up again in a second)

I have eight years detailing experience, the first two were working in a high volume shop - the next five were when I began my own detailing business in the Bay Area (SF, California - where I used to live). I moved to Toronto in June of '05 and wasn't sure if I would start detailing here, so last year I mostly did friends/family cars. I decided this season to start again and so far it's been going very well. It's certainly a different market than SF was, but I like it a lot. :)

I've very familar with Honda/Acura paint, although I do admit I've only worked on two NSX's before (two long time customers in the Bay Area). As you can probably tell from my site I detail quite a few Infiniti's, which have paint that is of similar temperment to Honda/Acura cars (at least ones produced after 1988). Before 1988 Honda paint was much harder.

I don't subscribe to any particular product line, I try to use what works best in a given situation based on my experience. Commonly used products would be Menzerna, Optimum, and Sonus polishes (with some Meguairs Pro and Klasse AIO sprinkled in), and a wide variety of waxes and sealants (sealants commonly used: Zaino, Poorboys EX-P, Menzerna FMJ and HGAS, Werkstatt AJ/CJ, 4* UPP, Klasse SG. Waxes: P21S, Nattys Blue, Pink Wax, Souveran, Clearkote Carnauba, Optimum Car Wax). I primarily use a Porter Cable 7336 for polishing, however I will use a Hitachi SP18VA rotary on occasion (for vehicles with a lot of marring). I find I'm able to achieve good results with the PC in most cases, and it's a lot easier on the paint. I try to stay active on detailing forums like Detail City and Autopia to keep up on current processes and trends in the business.

If you have any other questions definitely let me know!

Regards,

Kevin

P.S - I almost forgot to mention. We're having a "detailing training day" this Sunday (some of the guys from the G35driver.com board). It's absolutely an open invitation if anyone is interested. Details here:

Edit to add that I have worked on numerous exotics, but none in Toronto (which is why they aren't on my current page). Cheers.

Hey Guys, I'm the guy that asked Kevin to post his services here, as I suspect some of you may need detailing service.

I'm planning on getting Kevin to detail my wife's G35, and if he is good as he say:biggrin: ...He may get to wax the NSX.

I'm very busy these days, so I have not setup an appointment yet...when I do I'll post the results.

On the G35 Forum, he is getting great reviews, plus he carry a wide varity of products.

Bram

I quite like Simon's work from Fine Touch Detailing better I think, he's actually done some exotics, so he should be able to handle an NSX or 10.

Simon does great work. He goes by "tumbler" over at Autopia if anyone wants to see some cars he's done. I'd definitely recommend him.

Have you seen any of my work in person? If so, I'd love to know which car(s).

ummm a bit rude there eh bud?. you dont come in someones post who is trying to advertise their buisness and post that you like someone else better and he should be able to handle exotics. Kevin does great work. Not needed...

Thanks George for the kind words.

Guys - no need to get into an argument or anything. Simon and I know eachother and are not trying to "compete". Like I said above, he does excellent work and I would definitely recommend him. On that note I am more than willing to let my work speak for itself. I think if you were to choose either of us to detail your cars you would be making a good choice! :)

Interestingly Simon and I will be meeting this weekend to talk shop and try some new detailing techniques. It should be a fun afternoon - maybe we'll take pics for you all.

Cheers,

Kevin

Kevin, it was great meeting you today as well! I'm extremely satisfied with the way that the car came out, particularly given that you could only do a single step polish due to time constraints. I'm really looking forward to seeing what magic you can do with the touch up paint now :)

Everyone: I highly highly recommend Kevin's services. His professionalism is second to none, and it's clear from talking to him that he really has a passion for what he does. I had a prior engagement which I had to run off to as soon as the car was done, and everyone there was commenting on how great the paint looked. Great job, and I plan on calling Kevin back to do work on my other cars as well!
