Mobil1 to Redline?

My NSX has been using Mobil1 Synthetic since 1995. I am really tempted to switch to Redline, because of their higher temp rating. Am I causing any problems by switching from one Synthetic to another after six years? My car is a 1991 with about 8,030 miles. I usually take her out twice a month, and when I do, I always drive her hard (to 8k for almost every gear switch).
I always change the oil and the coolant every three months. Thanks in advance.

It probably makes very little difference if you were to change oils. I would suggest you stay w/Mobile 1. Can the protection really be that much better?

I would be more concerened about not driving the car as frequently as you do. Letting a car sit for months at a time is not a real good thing. Fuel becomes unstable and rubber parts begin to dry out.

To answer your original question, you won't cause any problems by switching brands, other than the higher cost. But I also agree with NSX4U2; Mobil 1 is fine, and (IMO) there's no significant benefit in paying extra for Redline.

However, oil is like religion; some say that Redline is worth the extra cost, and others say that ANY synthetic is not worth the extra cost. I'll keep using Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Synthetic, 10W30.
