CARBON FIBER FIBRE CLOTH 20 YARD ROLL PREPREG EPOXY NR
EPOXY PRE-IMPREGNATED AIRCRAFT INDUSTRIAL GRADE ROLL

eBay linkie: CARBON FIBER FIBRE CLOTH 20 YARD ROLL PREPREG EPOXY NR

Quick Info: This auction is for a 60" wide X 20 yard roll of prepreg carbon fiber. This is aircraft grade in a plain weave. Prepreg (epoxy pre-impregnated) is the newest technology in composites, stored at -20C[/B], cures solid at room temperature. If you don't know the details and nature of prepreg, you probably shouldn't be bidding on this item. NO RESERVE!

History of Roll: This roll has no data sheet, so I'm not sure where and when it was purchased. I do know that it has been taking up a lot of space in our freezer for the past 4 years. I am just trying to get rid of it, I don't really care what price it goes for. Note that this item is 4 years old. This means it is more than likely to be expired. I have NOT tested it and do not know if the epoxy is still good. I do know that it is not cured and still very pliable. If the epoxy catalyst is already gone, you may need to add more epoxy.

Shipping: This item must be stored at low temperatures to prevent premature cure. It is currently in a walk-in freezer at -20C. This means the best way of shipping this to pack the whole roll in dry ice and ship it Next Day Air. This will be expensive as the roll is very large and very heavy. I set the shipping calculator to charge UPS Next Day at 100lbs, Oversized 1 pricing, with the addition of $50 for dry ice. After the auction ends, pay me the total estimated shipping, and then I will put copies of the receipts for shipping and dry ice into the box and refund you the difference. Email me if you want to ship it any other way. UPS ground would be much cheaper, but even packed in dry ice, the carbon could cure. It takes 24 hours at room temp for a full cure. I highly recommend Next Day or 2nd Day Air, but shipping slower is a risk that is up to you completely; I will give you all receipts for whatever method you choose. LOCAL PICK-UP in Madison, WI would be great too.

Final Notes: Again, I don't know anything about this roll as the data sheet is missing, I know the cloth is pliable (not cured) and I know it is a plain weave. I don't know the density, the exact date of manufacturing. I also don't know if the epoxy catalyst is expired - even if it is, you can still add more epoxy, but you have to test that yourself.

Questions: Email me at [email protected]. I am a Mechanical Engineer so I can answer some of your questions related to processing and use too.

I would also be willing to consider a partial trade to a company that will build a intake manifold for my racing team. I have SolidWorks models, drawings, and a perfect male mold made already. We just need somebody with an autoclave and proven experience as we would like both the internal and external surfaces to be as smooth as possible, while keeping the piece strong and very light. Email me for pictures of the part, mold, and info on our Formula racecar. Thanks.

I JUST FOUND THAT THIS IS 50 YARDS, NOT 20. 50 YARDS of PREPREG!
