I was there until about 3 PM today, arrived around 10-ish. I was meeting family member from Virginia who was judging at the car show outside the track.
I must say, for $20 GA and $10 for a paddock pass, GrandAm is pretty darned fan-friendly.
I was curious to see the line the pros were using entering 3 and between 3 and 4. That alone was worth the price of admission.
Feb 21 Chin Motorsports let the Advanced group use the NASCAR 3-4 configuration for one session. Now THAT was fun!!! I was trying to stay out of everyone's way in the Spec Miata. Fun with the faster cars passing on the outside, and actually having to brake a little (well, maybe not having to, but I did nonetheless) going into turn 1. Approach speed to T1 was a whole lot faster coming off the banks than when coming from the autocross speeds using the infield 12-13-14 before the front straight.
I haven't watched the race (DVR), but I think I'll go fall asleep to it now.
