message board "democracy" overrated (?)

i've seen the term "democratic" used by apparently unhappy prime posters / members over the past year or so. today i ran across this tech-oriented blog and found their iteration of that topic.

I don't consider this message board a 'democracy'. Lud put up the site, he is the owner, and I consider it to be a room in his 'house'. Meaning, I would behave as if I were being invited into someone's house.

That means I agree, disagree, agree to disagree, even complain, but keep it civil and respectful. Like in real life, when words show the anger of physical violence, it's time to leave.
