Anyone installed the new Mesh & Carbon Fiber Shift Boot like the new 2002 has.

You may want to go and take another look at your console. I believe it replaces the part that surrounds the shifter and hold the shift pattern badge. It kind of goes underneath the large piece you are referring to.
